Illiana's POV
Michael requested the doctor to allow Sky's discharge even though she's still unconscious. The doctor agreed since the injury is not critical. He fears that Lady Mystique might attack his sister anytime.
What a caring brother, but I don't fancy killing people in the hospital because it's a hassle for me. I feel like all hospitals are dirty and full of viruses and germs.
"Isn't it still better if she stayed in the hospital?" I asked him while my eyes focused on the road. I volunteered to drive because I know that he didn't get enough sleep last night.
"I'd rather have her stay in her apartment, it's much safer there because Pug is with her" I frowned upon hearing his absurd logic. It is cute, but Pug cannot do anything to protect Sky.
I shook my head when I pictured Pug protecting Sky from someone. Barking like a big dog, but she flew away crying when the culprit kicked her out of the way.
I cannot do that to Puggy.
"I know that it's too much to ask, but you're the only person that I can trust to take care of her," he explained apologetically while caressing my right thigh.
His hand is warm against my skin, but I don't feel anything. We are dating for three months already, but the most intimate thing that we did so far is kiss and cuddle. He is sexy, and I know that he is good in bed too, but he is just not my type. Probably because I prefer women over men.
"No problem, she's like an older sister to me," I said chuckling before entering the underground parking of Sky's apartment.
He carried Sky to her bed and immediately left. He said he will continue the investigation in the pub because he doesn't trust the patrol officer that he sent there to investigate. I am starting to get worried because I know that he is good.
He doesn't talk much about work when we are together, he also doesn't share with the team the result of his investigations, unless he's sure about it. Now that Jude is gone, he is my next target, and I honestly do not have a plan yet on how I am going to eliminate him.
My thoughts are interrupted when Sky groaned. I am sitting on the side of her bed while carrying Pug baby style. She does not look like her actual age when she is sleeping.
I have so many chances of killing you, but I cannot bring myself to do it. I mentally said before putting Pug on the floor because she already fell asleep.
I hate that I am glad that you are alive and not Jude, and I hate that I realized that I am in love with you that way!
I shook my head upon remembering her sudden confession. I thought I already prepared myself for it, since making her fall in love with me is part of my plan, but it still caught me off guard. It made me happy and sad at the same time.
Her confession was not planned, that's why the atmosphere became awkward after that. I decided to leave because I don't know what to say. I am having mixed feelings when I know that I should not.
Her eyebrows twitched when I caressed her bruised temple. I released a heavy sigh because I feel bad for what happened to her, but she probably provoked Carin. She is lucky that her life was spared even though I'm not there.
"You're one of the best in the elite team, so I don't understand why you let yourself be beaten up like this" I mumbled while shaking my head.
I yawned after a moment. It's already almost midnight, and I am so tired. I lied beside her and continued caressing her face until I drifted to sleep.
