Sky's POV
"Why didn't you inform us about your undercover operation with Glenda?" Dad's angry voice filled the room. I am in his office together with Michael.
"Because I'm pretty sure that time that I'll succeed!" I tried to explain, but it only made him angrier.
"Your recklessness almost killed you! You really thought you could capture Lady Mystique by yourself? Where the hell did you get that stupid idea?" I did not respond because I don't know what to say. I really thought that time that it is possible.
"You're lucky that you're still alive, and that Violet responded immediately, man up and thank her later" he said in a much calmer tone now.
"I'm sorry okay? I messed up, I underestimated the Triad," I muttered in regret.
"You will be suspended for thirty days as a disciplinary action for bypassing your superior, and for conducting a major operation alone," Michael said while shaking his head. He is still in disbelief by what I did.
"What? That's too long!" I protested but both of them ignored me.
"Your suspension will start tomorrow Sky. Go home and clear your foggy head," Dad said dismissively before motioning us to leave with his right hand.
"That's unfair!" I continue to protest as we walk out but Michael just shook his head at me again before heading towards our office.
I didn't follow him and just went to the pantry to make coffee to calm myself. I am really upset and pissed off with what happened. I sighed heavily and leant my back to the wall while waiting for the water to boil.
I feel bad for Glenda because I am the one at fault, but she will receive a disciplinary action as well.
"Damn Triad!" I heard Michael said when I entered our office.
They are watching the breaking news about Richard Darwin's death inside the prison. I already gave up with that psycho, he's too obsessed with Lady Mystique. He only pissed me off the last time I visited him in prison.
He kept on saying cryptic things that I do not understand. I almost punched him on the face that time because he annoyed me so much when he told me that I am stupid.
The enemy is just right in front of you, but you are too stupid to notice. I already gave you a hint Lieutenant. It is such a waste if you die, you know. I frowned upon remembering those last words of him.
"So where do you plan to go on your long vacation?" George teased me as soon as he noticed me.
"None of your business" I said irritably before pressing the answer button of my telephone when I noticed that it is blinking. I felt guilty again when I saw Glenda's name on the screen.
"Hey, sorry for what happened" I immediately said, but she just laughed.
"I'm too important to be suspended, so no need to be sorry"
"What? And I felt guilty the whole time!" I protested but she just laughed more.
"Anyway, I called because I have a small lead with Toby's case" I almost fell from my seat in excitement upon hearing it. I did not waste time and went to the filling station where Lady Mystique switched her bike before heading to Toby's house.
We didn't get anything important from the cashier, and it sucks because we did not find anything suspicious there because it has been three months already since it happened.
However, I'm convinced that the Triad is using the filling station as a front. I confirmed this when I realized that it is the same location where Illiana tried to kill me seven years ago. The filling station is always deserted and it is a good spot to do all kinds of illegal things without anyone noticing.
