Sky's POV
"She vomits a lot and she doesn't have an appetite to eat" I anxiously explained to the vet.
"How many days has it been?" She inquired while checking Pug's heartbeat with her purple stethoscope.
"Two days, I got busy at work so I didn't have the time to bring her in yesterday" I said guiltily. Pug is the only living thing that I show my one hundred percent affection.
"I'm going to perform X-ray on her, then I'll put her on dextrose" she said before heading inside the X-ray room to set up the machine.
"Arf, arf" Pug protested weakly.
"Don't worry baby, this will be fast. I'll treat you with your favourite strawberry ice cream when you get better" I gently said before kissing her forehead. She never liked going to vet.
"Okay let's start" The vet informed me. I gently carried Pug to the X-ray room and placed her on top of the deflector.
We're done after ten minutes, the vet then put her on dextrose and advised me to just leave her and come back the following day for the result since it's already two o'clock in the morning. I agreed since I still have work and can't be absent.
I ended up coming early to work since I can't sleep well because all I think about is Pug. It is the first time that she got sick for seven years that we're together, so I'm really worried.
"Morning" the guard greeted me cheerfully which I returned with a small smile. I'm not a morning person and all of them knows it.
I tossed my jacket on my chair and sat on my desk while observing Violet's space. Her area is beside me, and the only thing that is visible on her desk is the desktop and the organized pile of documents on the right side of it. Her office supplies are stored inside her pedestal cabinet.
"Minimalist" I muttered while taking a sip of my coffee Americano.
"Or maybe you have an OCD" I continued as I pick up the scented envelope on top of the piled paper. I frowned because the initial VV is written on it.
Violet Vausse? It's not sealed so I opened it out of curiosity.
"Berny, Berny" I mused when I saw his name at the bottom of the letter.
The letter contains his confession of being in love with her and that he is asking if it's okay if he will court her and all. I immediately returned it inside the envelope because his words are making me cringe. I wiped the envelope afterwards with my shirt to avoid any track of my fingerprint.
"She's not that pretty, she's an okay girl" I muttered as I sit on my own chair.
I opened my desktop afterwards and started watching the three more CCTV footage that we gathered on all the possible road that LM passed by four years ago. The plate number of the car that LM used is not clear on the first CCTV video that we have and showed to the Lewis'.
The first two are useless since the quality of the camera is very low. I got lucky with the third one because she parked her car nearby the accident area, and although it was dark, I managed to acquire the plate number by zooming the screen shot photo and enhancing the tone colour.
"MDS 1202" I muttered while scribbling on the scratch paper. I didn't waste time and immediately entered it in our database to find a match.
I rejoiced when I found one but frowned when I read the owner's details. The vehicle number is registered to Teddy Simons. A local businessman and cousin of our current Deputy Attorney General Kevin Simons.
