Illiana's POV
I'm checking my outfit in the mirror when my phone suddenly rang. It's a telephone number so I hesitated for a moment before I answered.
"Hi it's Toby, I called to ask if you want me to pick you up?" he said ecstatically.
"You're so sweet, there's no need. I'll be there by nine thirty as promised"
"Very well then, I can't wait to see you" he said sweetly.
"Why are you not using your phone?" I asked curiously.
"I left it in the headquarters, I forgot to put it in my bag because I'm too excited" he explained.
"I see, I have to get ready now. I'll see you later" I said sweetly before hanging up.
His wife and daughter are not home because they went to visit her parents. He didn't come with them because of our planned dinner, how foolish. I told him that we can have dinner in a restaurant but he insisted that he will cook for me to make it more special.
I agreed because I know that he just want to avoid people that he knows to see him with me, especially now that Michael is courting me. He'll be dead if Michael finds out that we're seeing each other secretly.
"You're so stupid Toby" I muttered before putting my knife and a bottle of wine inside my bag.
My outfit is all black because my way of killing Toby will be bloody. Black can hide bloodstains so I don't have to worry even if I don't change my clothes immediately. I'm about to ride my bike when Michael suddenly called.
"Hey" I said as soon as I pressed the answer button.
"I'm just checking if you're already settled" he's watching the news. I can hear it on the background.
He drove me home earlier and asked if he could come inside my house and have coffee, or order dinner but I told him that I'm not feeling well because of my period. I don't know why I'm suddenly not yet ready to let him inside my house.
But you allowed Sky to come inside twice! My mind said.
"Yes, I already took my medicine. I'll make it up to you some other time" I said apologetically.
"It's fine, I kind of know how it works. Sky is grumpier when she's on her period" he said chuckling.
The mention of Sky's name made me frown. I've been observing her behaviour for a couple of days now and it seems like she's doing something that she doesn't want us to know. She went to Glenda earlier and stayed there for almost an hour. She also didn't leave the headquarters on time.
"Really? Then I guess she's always on her period" I joked which made him laugh more.
I glanced on my watch afterwards, I'm going to be late if I don't leave now. I coughed three times and was glad when he apologized for disturbing my rest and finally ended the call. I drove fast to the Triad's designated filling station where I'm going to leave my bike and will change into a rental one. We own the filling station but it's not under dad's name so in case the police will investigate, they will not know that it's ours.
I got to Toby's house by nine twenty eight. He looked confused by my outfit when he opened the door but he didn't comment on it. He excitedly led me to the living room and gave me a bouquet of flowers afterwards.
I shook my head when I suddenly remembered the flowers that Sky gave me before. It's still in my vase, even though it's already withered.
"Thank you Toby" I said smiling before giving him the wine that I brought.
