Illiana's POV
"Happy birthday mom!" I greeted her as soon as I came back from school.
"Thank you, darling! I love you!" she said after putting down the bouquet of purple roses.
"Mom, you've been receiving that kind of flowers every year, they look good, are those from dad?" I asked curiously after our hug.
"No darling, it's from my friend," she said smiling before picking up the bouquet again. She looks so happy right now.
"Illiana darling, you know that dad has a dangerous business, right?" I nodded smiling.
"If the time comes that something happens to us and we're no longer with you, I want you to remember this name, Reina Clarke"
"Reina Clarke?" I asked frowning.
"Yes darling, she will help you, whatever problem you are facing," she said while gently caressing my head.
"Is she the friend that sent you these flowers?"
"Yes"
I opened my eyes in surprise upon the realization. I now remember the name Reina Clarke, she's the one who always gives mom flowers on her birthday, but I've never seen her once before. It's been fifteen years now, that's why I totally forgot about it.
"Violet! Thank God you're finally awake" my thoughts are interrupted by Michael.
I glanced to my right side and smiled at him when I remember what happened. I'm about to sit up but he stopped me.
"You've been in a coma for four days" he informed me afterwards.
"Really? I feel alright though" I said in disbelief.
I guess Carin overdid it again.
"Everyone is alright and they are already discharged," he said gently while caressing my right hand.
I feel upset that Sky is not around because I'm low key expecting her to take care of me. I'm not feeling any pain in any part of my body so I want to go home no.
"That's great. I'm really okay, can you ask the doctor if I can be discharged immediately? Like today if it's possible" I requested.
He contemplated for a moment but nodded in approval afterwards and left to talk to the doctor. I can't believe that I'm asleep for four straight days, I feel like I just slept for a day only.
I want to do stretching while waiting. I'm about to wiggle my hands when I noticed the dextrose attached to my left hand, so I stopped.
"Bummer," I said in upset before I decided to just watch the news on the TV.
My eyes widen in surprise upon seeing the news about the Triad's interference with Reina's case. I didn't expect that LAPD would release this information to the media.
Dad will kill me for sure. I muttered mentally while tapping my forehead in regret.
Michael returned after half an hour along with the doctor. They approved my discharge after taking my vital signs and it all turned out normal. He then insisted to drive me home and stayed with me until I finished dinner.
He told me everything that happened during the four days that I am asleep, and I'm glad that my plan turned out well. I sneaked out of my house as soon as he informed me that he's finally home. I understand that he wants to protect the Violet that he loves, but it still annoys me because I know the truth that there's no way that Lady Mystique would kill me.
