Illiana POV
"Are you really sure about this?" Carin asked me for the third time. Sky already left an hour ago but she still feels unsettled about the agreement between me and Sky.
She didn't agree with my idea when I told her about it, but I insisted that I know what I'm doing so she doesn't have a choice. I didn't tell her everything about my plan though, because she will surely not allow Sky to kill me.
She's the only person I know that's willing to risk her life just to save me, and I don't want her to do that. No one is responsible for my life except me.
"But she hates you now and we don't know what's running in her mind" she continues to argue.
I sighed heavily before walking to the kitchen to take a bar of Twix and she followed me there. I'm suddenly craving something sweet and that's strange because I never craved it before.
Maybe because of stress. My mind suggested.
"I know that, but we are her best chance. We have the advantage because we know everything about the Triad, so it will be easier for us to finish them" I explained patiently.
"I still don't trust her. I feel like she's plotting something against us." I am already anticipating that, but I don't care at this point.
I understand her, but we don't have a choice right now. Siding with Sky is the best way for us to successfully execute our plan.
"Alright, if you have a better plan than this with at least an 80% chance of success, then tell me now and I will think about it" I gave her a chance but she can't think of anything.
"Don't think too much about it, it's us versus her anyway so let's try to finish this job fast so we can get out of this basement," I added.
This basement will be our home for a few months and I'm glad that I insisted on making it look good when I came back to L.A. seven years ago. The basement has three rooms and a huge living room and kitchen.
It was so dirty and it stinks so bad the first time I came to visit. It took a lot of discussions with dad before he agreed to fund the renovation. We also pulled some connections in the authority to close the area while we're doing it.
"By the way, where do you plan to go after all this?" she inquired curiously.
"Hmmm, I'm thinking of going to Japan, what about you?" I asked while heading back to the living room. I am already feeling sleepy now because I haven't gotten enough sleep for the past few days.
"I don't know yet. I'll think about it when the time comes" I didn't respond because she will probably just follow me. I don't like that idea because I want her to have her own life and be completely free.
I smiled to myself when I suddenly remember that I'm going to be dead by that time, so there's no sense in being concerned with what she's going to do with her life after. I'm about to sit on the couch when she asked me about the twins.
"What do you plan to do with them?" I pouted because I already forgot about them.
"Killing both of them is a waste because they are good with what they do." I sat on the couch afterwards.
"So, what's your plan?" she asked again.
"Call them here and we will talk," I said after a moment of thinking.
"What if they refuse to side with us? What are you going to do?" I rolled my eyes at her.
"That's why I asked you to call them here, so it will be easier for us to kill them if ever they refuse" she nodded in understanding upon getting my point.
