Illiana's POV

I immediately went to dad's office as soon as I arrived. I knocked twice and Carin was the one who opened the door. Her expression is serious it seems like they are discussing something important.

I am guessing that it's about the upcoming shipment, dad became extremely cautious after the abduction of Berny.

"What brings you here?" dad asked coldly.

"I'd like to check mom's autopsy report that you showed to me before," I said before sitting on the couch across from him.

He glanced at Carin's direction before clicking his tongue in annoyance. "What's the use of checking it again and again when you already found out the person that killed her?"

"I just want to make sure, I'm way too young to understand all of the things that are written there before" I explained patiently.

He snorted afterwards. He's slowly becoming a different person day by day. The father that I adored and loved so much when I was younger is slowly drifting away, and it's all because of his love of the Triad.

"Instead of wasting your time on that. Why don't you start planning on how to kill Michael Montreal? You wasted enough time already" he said irritably.

"I'm on it, dad. You don't have to remind me every time you see me. Show the autopsy report to me now" I said impatiently. He's getting on my nerves already.

He opened the drawer under his table and then he asked Carin to give the paper to me. I shook my head in disbelief. He could have just passed it to me by himself, there's no need to ask Carin to do it.

"I'll review this in my room," I said before standing up.

"By the way," he said as soon as I opened the door.

"Leila and I had a long discussion about Benedict's interest in you. She is so delighted–"

"Keep your conversation with Leila about Benedict to yourself dad, I'm not interested. I already told you before that I will not marry that guy,"

"Who told you that you have the rights to refuse?" he retorted.

"Don't make me kill them," I said sternly before walking away.

I closed my door and immediately reviewed the autopsy report of the Medical Examiner. Mom died due to a single gunshot on her left chest. It's confirmed that the bullet that killed her came from the sniper gun that Michael used.

I entertained the thought that there's a possibility that mom was shot twice, but I don't remember anymore because I'm too young and shocked that time that everything became vague for a moment.

I massaged my temple because I'm tarting to have a mild headache. The memories of that time came rushing back to me.

"But that's an accident, they intend to kill dad" I argued to myself.

Still, they ended up killing your mom. They're both your parents! You need to avenge them! My mind insisted.

I'm so conflicted right now. I already decided to not kill Michael and I don't know how I'm going to explain it to dad. I thought checking the autopsy report again will help, but it didn't.

I sighed in surrender before leaning my back against the chair. I called Carin to my room afterwards.

"You called me," she said as soon as she entered.

"What really happened back then?" I asked curiously while gazing at her intently.

"I don't understand your question," she said frowning.
