Illiana's POV

I reached my home from work at exactly nine pm. I frowned and stopped in the foyer when I smelled a flowery scent, it's like a combination of jasmine and vanilla. I slowly removed my gun from my waistband holster and gently walked to the living room where the scent is stronger.

The only light in my living room is the neon paint on the ceiling. I stayed still in front of my couch and closed my eyes to feel and hear every movement clearly. The scent is getting closer from my right side so I counted till five and pointed the gun to its direction.

I immediately opened my eyes when I felt something hit my forehead, my gun is also pointing at her. I didn't wait for her to speak, I pulled the trigger thrice but was surprised that no bullet came out.

"You got no chill, no wonder you're Lady Mystique" She said smirking before tossing the gun to the couch. My eyes widen in disbelief when I realized that it's one of my personalized gun. The one I use when I'm Lady Mystique.

"How did you get inside?" I asked frowning.

No one can come inside my house unless her fingerprint is enrolled in the automatic lock, or if she used an RPG or rocket-propelled grenade to break apart my ballistic wall glass, which she obviously didn't. She took her time to sit on my couch, then she motioned me to sit beside her but I refused.

"It doesn't matter" she replied simply. I'm trying to figure out if we met before, or if we're batch mates in Russia.

"Stop exerting so much effort on trying to remember where you met me because this is the first time" she added. I can't clearly see her face because the light from the neon paint on my ceiling is not much of help.

"Who's your boss?" I inquired before putting my gun back to its holster. I can sense that she's very dangerous but I can also sense that she didn't come to kill me.

"No one, I'm on my own" She replied smiling. "Do you have tea?" She politely inquired afterwards.

"What do you want? Why do you know me?" I curtly said.

"I have a job for you" She stood up afterwards and handed me a picture of a woman.

"Pepper Anderson" I muttered frowning.

"Gotcha, I want you to kill her but not now, not until I say so" she said authoritatively which irked me.

"You don't get to tell me what to do, I'm not working for you" I said before tossing the picture to her face but she managed to catch it without a hassle.

"I'm afraid you don't have a choice, I know everything about you and your plan on killing the people that are involved on your mom's death. I also know how the Triad works and all the people that are protecting it" She calmly said.

"Then do it, might as well kill me now" I said unfazed by her threat.

"Now where's the fun in that? I can easily do that now but that would be a waste. I like you" I frowned at her. "Not sexually. I like you as a person, and you're the best assassin that I know that can perfectly execute my plan" she immediately clarified.

"Aren't you an assassin yourself?" I asked confused. She chuckled and shook her head in response.

"I am just a freshman student in St. Bernadette, I'm Lee Saunders by the way" she introduced herself before extending her hand for a handshake.

My eyes widen in disbelief. There's no way that a freshman can manage to easily enter my house and open my fingerprint protected locker where I keep my personalized ammo.
