Illiana's POV
Since Sky was just shot by a tranquilizer, we didn't bring her to the hospital and just brought here back to the headquarters to be checked by our resident doctor.
Michael and George went straight to the Chief of Police's office to report what happened while I wait for Sky to wake up. She's been asleep for three hours already and she'll wake up anytime soon.
"I'll just go make coffee, man I feel so sleepy. Do you want me to make you one?" the doctor offered while stretching his arms.
"No thank you, take your time" I politely refused before returning my focus on the book that I am reading.
"Oh, okay" he said smiling before getting out of the clinic.
Five minutes have already passed and Sky finally woke up. She slowly sat up straight and started massaging the back of her head.
"What happened? I'm supposed to be dead" she joked.
"Don't take what happened to you lightly. You almost died" I said annoyed.
"Well, unfortunately I am alive. Are you the first one to arrive in the warehouse? Did you see Lady Mystique or the woman with pixy hair and shades?" she immediately asked, ignoring my remarks.
"I didn't find any one there when I arrived" I simply said.
"Really? That's sketchy, what happened to me anyway?" she asked while continuously massaging her nape.
"Someone shot you with a tranquilizer bullet, I just found you lying on the floor when I arrived" I stood up afterwards to level her face.
"The last thing that I remember is that the pixy haired girl is about to kill me" she said before sighing heavily.
"You f**ked up. It's so stupid of you to think that you can track down Lady Mystique with your dummy account in the dark web" I preached which made her frown.
"At least I am doing my job, unlike some people who were busy with their love life that they forgot that they have a job to do" she sneered.
"Well you did a crappy job" I countered.
"It's not crappy, I now know that there's another assassin aside from Lady Mystique. I will do everything to track that pixy haired woman. I believe she's an important member of the Triad"
I'm surprised upon hearing what she said. She's starting to be a big threat to our organization, and to me.
Stupid of me to let her live. I scolded myself in regret.
"Get some more rest" I said and about to leave when she grabbed my hand.
"Are you sure that you didn't see anyone in the warehouse?" she asked suspiciously.
"Yes" I simply said before snatching my hand away from her grasp and left.
I returned to my seat and frowned when I saw a powder blue envelope on my desk. I picked it up and about to open it when Jude suddenly approached me.
"That's an invitation for my cousin's wedding in Atlanta, Georgia. There's not much visitor so I decided to invite you, George, Luis, Michael and Sky" he said smiling.
"Great! I can't wait to show off my new dress that I bought from Auckland" I said with fake excitement.
"Everyone already confirmed?" I asked afterwards.
"Yeah" he simply said before going back to his seat while whistling. He seems in high spirit today.
His invitation ruined my entire plan of killing him. Now it will be suspicious from my side if I'll make an excuse to not go and then he'll suddenly die.
