ILLIANA's POV
We travelled early to Lancaster to check the abandoned farm that Glenda told us. It's only a one-hour drive from the HQ. The gate of the farm is locked with thick rusty anchor chains, so we cut it using a portable chainsaw.
We entered the gate afterwards and pulled over in front of the Georgian style mansion that's filled with different colours of bougainvillea. It makes the exterior of the house looks mystical, and I like it. The sheriff told us that no one dares to enter the farm because it is believed to be haunted. Some people claims that they sometimes see a white lady wandering around the house.
"Miss Clarke was last seen entering her gate on June 20, 2010 around three o'clock in the afternoon" The sheriff informed us while removing the padlock of the front door.
The door was not locked when they came to investigate ten years ago. There's also no sign of forced entry, and there's no valuable items that are missing so they ruled out the probability of robbery and burglary.
"Are there any CCTV cameras in here?" I asked while observing the living room. The interior of the house is very British, and the walls are made of bricks.
I felt a familiar vibe when I saw the portrait painting of a beautiful woman on the wall. I'm pretty sure she's Reina Clarke. She's seating on an elegant couch, wearing a black evening gown. Her legs are crossed, her right arm is resting on top of her lap while the left one is on the arm rest.
"No, Miss Reina is not into that kind of things. She's not techy at all" the sheriff answered while checking the gold ashtray on the table beside the centre couch.
"We tried our best to look for her, we even contacted her family in England but they told us that Reina didn't come back there. In fact, they told us that Reina never contacted them ever since she left" he added when no one responded to his explanation.
"Is there any basement or underground here?" I probed.
Michael and Sky went to the second floor to check the rooms, while George and Luis went outside to check the surrounding.
"There's none, we have the blueprint of this house and there's no basement showed in there. We tried checking also, but we didn't find any secret door or some sort" He's still holding the ashtray. He looks very interested in it, and I won't be surprised if he takes it home.
I searched around to look for an odd object that seems to be out of place. Usually, it is a sign or an indication of a secret door. I feel like there's no way that Reina would just disappear without anyone seeing, or a trace. She's very noticeable because of her elegant beauty.
There's a possibility that she was murdered and was buried within this house, or at least within the vicinity of her farm. I also strongly believe that there is a connection between my stalker and Reina's sudden disappearance.
The sheriff left after he successfully hid the ashtray inside the bag that he brought. It's really his plan to steal something that's why he insisted on coming with us, and if ever someone finds out, he will put the blame on us.
"hmm" I mumbled while massaging my chin.
There's nothing odd in the living room, except Reina's portrait. Her mocking gaze makes me uncomfortable, it's like she's belittling me. The arrogance and her beauty are overwhelming to look at.
"We didn't find anything suspicious in the rooms" Michael informed me while walking down the stairs with Sky. I shook my head when I suddenly remember our kiss last night.
"You know, I have a feeling that my stalker has something to do with Reina's disappearance" I said thoughtfully.
"How come? Her case is ten years old. If your stalker is the culprit, then he got to be in his late forties, and that doesn't match our profile right now" Sky commented.
