Jade

Jade woke up, just like she would every morning. She felt sick, nervous to see her friends again at school. She got dressed and ran downstairs, only to find another note from her father.

More Overlord stuff, had to go back to the police station, please walk to school.

-Love, Dad

She sighed and grabbed a banana with a peanut butter granola bar and left her house. Jade walked down the sidewalk, the cool autumn breeze brushing her face. She made her way down the sidewalk, her phone vibrating like crazy as she walked, being blown up by texts from her friends. She wasn't going to answer.

Soon she was at school. She looked up and gazed at the school, before entering. She kept to herself, not meeting eyes with anyone. Knowing her friends, they were at the library. She instead walked to her first period class, and played games on her phone until the bell rang.

She stuffed her phone into her backpack's pocket and watched teens pack in the room. Kirby and Axel walked in and noticed her. She kept her eyes at the front board, not looking their way. The whole time they tried to talk to her, but she ignored them.

She went to other classes and soon, lunch came. She planned to eat alone, ignoring her friends, but Reese, grabbed her hand, "Hey Jade, wanna eat with us at lunch? Please?" he asked.

She couldn't turn down her friend. Sh sighed and put on a smile, "sure! Lets go!" Reese seemed to have an odd face, but he seemed satisfied. They made their way to their picnic table, and there were all of their friends.

They all looked to Jade. Maya smiled and bounced up to her, " hey Jade! Where were you this morning?" Kirby covered her mouth with his hand, " don't mind her." he nervously chuckled. Jade nodded, and made her way to the table.

She pulled out her granola bar and started to munch on it as the other practiced their powers. She watched the grass blow in the breeze, trying not to look at her friends, and their powers. Truthfully, she was scared of her powers. Now that she knew of her golden power, she didn't know what to think anymore.

"Hey Jade,"she looked up to see Adrain, "Why not practice with us! We can see your golden power in action!" He smiled. "No thanks." She shook her head, starting to get a bit ticked off, but she hid it as much as she could. "Come on! You aren't still upset over yesterday are you?"

"Of course I am!" She stood up, everyone looked at them. "You guys kept my power a secret from me! And the Overlord is looking for my power! I am in danger, Adrain!" She yelled, "Now I find out who my mom is when I thought she had been gone the whole time! And now I find out that you love me? Well I can't take all of this sudden information any more! I'm done!"

Adrian had taken a few steps back, a bit spooked. Jade grabbed her bag and left. Where to? She didn't know yet. Her next two classes were with Ray, Maya, and Adrain. So instead, she walked home.

The minute she walked in she spotted her dad, so she avoided his gaze and ran up the stairs. Jade slammed the door shut and threw her bag on the ground, belly flopping onto the bed.

"Jade? Why are you home so early?" Lloyd asked, walking into her room. "And my, what a belly flop!" Jade sighed. "Everything is just happening too fast to process. First finding out about mom, finding about my golden powers which my friends were hiding from me, then Adrian told me he loved me. Now I shut him out, including all the rest of my friends and I'm stressed. So I left school." Jade put her head in her hands. "I've messed up."

Lloyd facepalms and shakes his head. "You've messed up bad." Jade punches her pillow. "I've probably lost all of my friends." Lloyd sighed. "You probably did."
