Chapter 19

Axel

Axel woke, making sure he was fully charged. But he noticed a strange noise coming from the hallway. He followed it to Maya's room. "Are you okay?" he asked, knocking on the door. "I woke up with the stomach bug. I'm miserable."

Axel opened the door to piles of kleenexes and Maya on the couch with a puke bucket. "Can I do anything?" he asks. Maya groans. "I'm bored." Axel thought for a second. "I can get Kirby. I heard you two are watching Naruto."

She nods and leans into the bucket again. Axel leaves her room and walks down the long hallways until he reaches Kirby's room. "I need you." he says as Kirby opens the door. "What happened?"

"Maya is bored with the stomach bug." As soon as Axel said that Kirby disappeared into his room and came out with ice cream. "That won't be good for upset stomachs."

"It's for me tincan." he smiled, "also i might have put some medicine in there so that Maya would take it, she doesn't do medicine." Axel nodded and watched Kirby walk to Maya's room.

He then walked down stairs to find something to do, and noticed Ray laying on the couch on her back, looking at the ceiling. "What are you doing?" he asked. "Thinking." she replied, "did it ever occur to you that we always end up third wheeling?" Axel froze for a minute, "what?" Ray sat up, "well, Dianna and Reese are together, Maya and Kirby are basically dating, the only thing that Adrian talks about is Jade." she pointed out, "we are the third wheels."

"But there are eight of us including Jade." he pointed out. "Fine." Ray sighed, "we are eighth wheels."

"Well, is there anything else you were thinking about?" he asked. "Yea, why hasn't Jade or Garmadon attacked in a while?" she asked, "we need to be prepared, they could be plotting attacks as we speak!" she pinpointed.

Axel's eyes widened, "that's true! But who is going to help us think of ideas? Maya is sick and Kirby is taking care of her, and Dianna and Reese are going out today for a one week anniversary or something?" he said. "What about Adrian?" Ray questioned.

"He is third wheeling on their date, also it's Adrian." he gave her a look, "you want him to help out on this?" Ray nodded "you are right. Looks like it is up to us." she stood up, "I mean we are clearly the smartest." A grin was formed across her face.

Axel smiled, "Ok, let's think this through, we know Jade, but she isn't in charge." "Garmadon and the Overlord are in charge." Ray continued for him. "Exactly, so instead of thinking like her we need to think like them, but we have never met them," Ray sighed, slouching her shoulders, "This is going to be harder than I thought."

"We could talk to Lloyd or the other adults? They know. But then they would want to come." Axel sighed. "We could say it's for a school history of Ninjago project we are doing!"

Ray bounded up, "That's a good idea!" she smiled, "About the Overlord attacks! That's what we will say it's about! I will go get some paper, be right back." she then dashed up the stairs, soon coming back down with her notebook.

They started heading their way to Kai and Skylor's room, when a thought formed, "How come they never taught us about the Overlord attacks?" he asked Ray. "They did, but it's not like the teacher's were there. We need inside info from professionals." she winked. Axel grinned, "then let's get some, we will ask everyone until we know enough."

Soon they were in front of the room Kai and Skylor were staying in for the time being. Axel knocked on the door. Soon it was answered by Skylor, "Hey kids, is there something you need?" she questioned. "Yes actually." Ray nodded her head, "We wanna ask dad about the Overlord attacks for a history project for school." Axel then stepped in, "we also need facts from when Garmadon tried to take over the city. Skylor hummed, "well I can help you about the second one, I was there." she said, "Garmadon was dead actually until he was brought back by Harumi and the three oni masks. Garmadon always knew Lloyd since he was his father and had this weird bond."
