Chapter 12

Kai

The two of them were running through the forest, looking for the way Akita came out from. Kai noticed how distracted Lloyd was, which threw himself off a little. "Hey greeny? Are you ok?" he asked. Lloyd sighed, "It's just, I wanted a peaceful life with a nice family. Then Akita left Jade with me and didn't come back, and I kinda lost feelings. I raised Jade alone and thought that she maybe would have a normal life. Then all of this happened and Akita returned and-" Lloyd paused. "I think I'm developing feelings again."

Kai smiles. "I say, follow your heart." Lloyd frowns. "That sounds like something a Disney princess would say." Kai rolls his eyes, "Nevermind." Lloyd chuckled a little, but then fell back into his worry state, "I'm also worried about Jade, who knows what they will do to her! And the other kids seem so worried, you dont think they will do anything stupid? Do you?"

Kai scoffed, "They are our children! They are filled with stupid ideas." He joked. Lloyd didn't seem to feel better at that. Kai sighed, "We have raised these kids, and knowing them, they would do anyone to protect their friend. They could be heading to the Overlord themselves as we speak."

Lloyd's eyes had widened. What if he was right, and the kids did go out to find Jade themselves. He met Kai's eyes for a minute, before focusing on his trail. Soon, they had made it to the edge of a cliff. Kai would have fallen in if Lloyd hadn't caught him.

They both crouch down to examine where they were. Kai's eyes followed stone warriors and nindroids movement. "I think it's a base." Kai said. Lloyd nodded, "It has stone warriors and nindroids, what else could it be?" he asked.

Kai nodded in agreement. They jumped down into the base, belding into the shadows. They followed through the base until they found a dark hallway. They noticed odd movement, which froze the second they had entered the base.

"Who's there?" Lloyd whispered, getting ready to attack. "Wait, I know you!" a familiar voice calls out. Maya quickly appears, along with the rest of the teens. Kai chuckles. "I TOLD YOU SO!"  

"What are you guys doing here? You could've been seriously hurt!" Lloyd scolded. "Its my fault. I pulled them into this." Maya stepped up. "We were really worried about Jade, so we went to find her." Lloyd smiles. "I feel the same way. Now what were you guys hiding from?"

Ray shivers while jumping behind a bunch of boxes. "Jade." she whispers while motioning for the others to hide too. Kai peeks out and sees red eyes glowing in the dark. "That's not Jade, it has to be some sort of demonic creature. Is it a gremlin?"

"Adrian and Reese went into a room and we heard him say Jade. Then we heard screaming and water splashing and 'help, i've fallen and i can't get up' so we ran. And we soon found demonic Jade walking around with a sack that we presume has Adrian and Reese in a deep sleep with concussions. Is that what you need to hear?" Ray informs. Kai looks terrified. "Somethings wrong with our kids." he whispers to Lloyd, and Lloyd gives him a nod.

Suddenly a voice comes out, and they spot a stone warrior with a phone and earbuds."Take the bullets out your gun!" he yells, making fake guns with his fingers. Maya has to cover Kirby's mouth so he doesn't burst into laughter. "The bullets out your gun!" Now Kirby was covering Maya's mouth so she wouldn't laugh. "We move undercover and we move as one. Through the night, we have one shot to live another day, we cannot let a stray gunshot give us away!" The stone warrior tried to fall into the splits, but fell over crying.

Maya and Kirby couldn't hold it in anymore, and burst into laughter. The stone warrior looked up, terrified. "I wasn't that bad, was I?" he asked. Kirby shook his head. "Far worse than bad." The stone warrior grumbled. "Come here you ninja!" he yelled, trying to get up. Kirby knocks him out. "Next time, make sure you take singing lessons."
