Hades
After Persephone left to have fun with her new friends. I decided to get some work done since I was already there, might as well do business. I have a meeting with members of my management team and discuss the current state of business. I might as well buy an island with the way things are going. It's surprising how the thought of death makes people irrational. Buying life insurance and funeral policies for people that still have years to live. I benefit from it and once they die, I benefit, even more, more souls to torture in the Underworld.
After my meeting is over, I call Persephone to check up on her. I give Jonny and Bianca the rest of the day off, to keep her company longer. Those too are one of my top employees, they work, and they deserve it.
"Hades, Hecate is asking if she should prepare dinner for you and the queen," Tyson asks while holding his phone in his ear.
I nod, "Tell her to prepare Persephone's favourites,"
"Of course, your highness."
It's been awfully quiet lately. I haven't heard from Poseidon or Zeus, or any of my siblings for that matter, nor have I heard from the council either. Thanatos and his brother are off the radar, something is just not right.
"You got a lot on your mind?" I hear Tyson ask.
"It's been quiet Tyson, too quiet and I don't know what to think of it. I mean by now, things should be hitting the fan but nothing, have you heard anything?"
He shakes his head, "Nothing. The gods have been busy attending to their daily duties, the Oracle probably hasn't said anything."
"Fuck the Oracle, Tyson, who is she anyway to determine the fates of the people?"
"She doesn't determine their fates. She sees the endless possibilities of what could happen," Tyson corrects.
I sigh, "I need you to run an errand for me, Tyson."
"I'm at your service sir,"
"I need you to make the rounds. Check on everybody, every god, demi-god, titan. Everything associated with this kingdom and report back. Especially on Demeter, I don't trust that hag." I command.
"Consider it done, sir." He says and walks out the door.
I stand up from my desk and pick up a folder that I need to deliver to the marketing department. Teleport myself into an empty elevator that's headed up to the fourth floor. The doors open and I step out, I walk towards, Cole's office, I knock on the door, and he tells me to come in.
"Cole,"
"Mr Wilson, please take a seat," he smiles.
"I'm okay, I just came to drop this folder for you. I need you to have a look at them and give me feedback on how soon you can start working on the idea," I explain. I place the folder on his desk, and he picks it up and flips through it.
"A new advertising campaign," he says and places the folder down. "I'll give you feedback by next week Monday morning; I'll have to talk to the team and find out from them when they can start."
"Not a problem at all," I reply.
"Awesome, anything else I can help you with sir?"
In fact, I do.
"Tell me, Cole, what are people saying about my wife?"
He chuckles nervously, "For the most part people really like her, I think she's a great person."
I hum, he's being honest, "Good."
"Although I did hear Claire bitch about your wife, you know Claire, she always has a problem with someone."
"Thank you, Cole." I turn around and leave his office and I walk down the hall to the elevators; I take my phone out of my pocket and call Claire.
"Hello Hades," she says in a sultry voice.
"My office now," and I hang up.
I make it to my office and walk through the door, feeling a little dizzy after.
I hate doing that.
That worthless whore, I warned her, I really did, I told her that if she stepped out of line, she'll be out of her job and now she is. I fuck a bitch once and she acts up like she's my girlfriend and thinks she can get away with it, if I could kill her, I would.
I pace around the room, as my anger rises to the roof.
Calm down Hades.
No don't, you haven't transformed in a while, so why not now?
No, I can't, not here.
She should know who you are.
No!
Do it Hades, do it.
When I hear a knock at the door I am sucked back into reality. I use my telekinesis to open the door and she struts into my office.
"I knew you couldn't resist me," she says with a smirk, she reaches to touch me, but I grab her hand.
"Don't touch me," I growl.
She wriggles her wrist to set herself free from my grip, but I don't let go.
Take her soul.
"Look at me," I command, and her terrified blue eyes look into mine.
"Hades I'm sorry," she cries, "Please let me go."
I let her go and she backs away from me.
"I don't like it when people mess with my wife. You should have kept your opinions to yourself, Claire," I sneer, "What did you say about her?"
She shakes her head tears falling down her face, "I'm sorry, don't fire me."
Aw, the little human is begging, how pathetic.
"What did you say?" I yell.
She jumps and gulps, I hear her heart rate pick up, and the words refuse to come out of her mouth.
End her.
The darkness had crept into my mind. I feel it coursing through my veins. I didn't want this to happen, not here and not like this, but it's too late. I can't stop it now. I watch as my skin changes colour, into black, and my conscious mind slips back to my true nature. I feel my horns poke out of my head, my fangs grow, and my claws protrude through my fingernails.
In my full Hades form, I let out a roar.
Claire lets out a screech of terror.
I tower over her and pick her up by the neck. She scratches and claws at my hard skin, trying to fight me off. I squeeze her neck tighter, and before I can watch her soul her body, Persephone and Tyson make an appearance.
"Oh shit," Tyson says.
Persephone looks at me, "Hades,"
"Hades, put her down," Tyson says calmly.
I grow, "No."
"Man, you better do it or I'm calling your father," he threatens.
All the while, Persephone can't stop looking at me, she's not scared, or disgusted. She's intrigued and a little aroused by me. She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath.
"Hades, baby, put her down," her soft voice says to me.
No, don't!
I close my eyes and revert my eyes to Claire. Her body is about to go limp.
"Hades, you better put that woman down or I'll put you down," she commands, and I drop her body to the ground.
Tyson rushes to her body and picks her up and disappears with her.
"Hades, come back to me."
And that's the last thing I hear before everything turns black.
