Hades
Three weeks.
It has been three weeks and she still has not woken up.
I have not left her bedside not once. I would bathe her, change her, and just make sure she was comfortable. Why is it taking so long?
Don knocks on the door, "Hey bro."
"Hi," I greet.
Don stands beside me, "Demeter is here."
I turn and look at him, "You went through with it."
Don nods, "I had no choice, she could be the solution to our problem."
He could be right.
"Bring her in."
Don walks out of the room; I look at her and take her hand into mine and kiss it.
"Your mama is here baby, she came to see you," I say, "Hopefully you respond to her presence, even though she doesn't deserve to be in your presence."
There is a knock on the door and Don walks in with Demeter by her side. She still looks as young as ever, with short black hair, deep brown eyes, dark chocolate skin, and not a wrinkle in sight. She's been using dark magic; it'll catch up to her eventually.
I stand up and walk to them.
"Miss Jones," I greet curtly.
"Hello, Hades. You finally failed so you called me to help you once again."
I roll my eyes, here we go.
"Demeter please, I love your daughter and I'm willing to do anything to help her, just please help me," I plead, "We may have had a falling out because of her but I'm coming to you as her future husband and her destiny to just put that aside and help her."
She laughs, "You're pathetic, what kind of a King begs?"
"Demeter, are you going to help us or not?" Don asks firmly.
She looks at Don and then at me, "I'll see what I can do."
"Thank you," I sigh, "I'm sure she'd really appreciate it."
"Do me one thing, if she wakes up don't tell her I was here okay."
I nod, "You have my word."
Don and I leave the room, leaving Persephone and her mom in private.
"How are you?"
I chuckle and I sit on the stairs, "I don't know, I'm worried that we, I may have messed things up and probably killed her or messed with her powers or something. She wasn't supposed to be out for this long Don, what did we get wrong?"
Don sits next to me, "Let's go to the kitchen and I'll make you my famous tea and talk, okay?"
We get up and walk to the kitchen, I find Hecate cooking lunch.
"Hey Hades, how are you doing my boy?" She asks, I could tell she was excited to see me, she had a twinkle in her eye, as well as worry.
"I'm fine Nena, just hungry," I pout.
She rolls her eyes, "I'll whip you up something good to eat, sit down."
"Thank you, Nena." I smile faintly.
She looks at Don who gives her a curt nod, "She's with Persephone."
"I don't trust that woman," Nena says angrily, "After the hell, she put her daughter through, she doesn't deserve to be here."
