Persephone

"My what?"

Hades looked scared but he composes himself and carries on talking, "I have been trying to capture your spirit since the day you were born but ever since our first and last attempt to capture your mother managed to keep you away from me."

"Wait a minute."

Hades put the plate down and sighs, "I think it's time I told you the truth."

I nod.

"You and I have been bound ever since the almighty oracle bound me to you. I wanted you, no, I needed you. I was blinded by the loneliness that the moment I heard Demeter was about to give birth to you, I planned to talk to your mother."

"After your mother and I had agreed to our deal, of me taking you after you had become of age, I got impatient, and I planned to kidnap you instead. Close to the time of your birth, I asked Hermes to help but instead, he ran to your mother and told her everything. She escaped with you, with the help of her devious friends, she took your spirit and hid it away from me."

"So, I've lived my entire life in hiding, this is my first physical body?"

He nods, "Yes, it is. That's why Persephone is out of control, she's never been in outside of her containment for centuries and with your trauma and everything happening around you, she's getting the worst of it, and you haven't fully bonded with her yet."

It was a lot to take in, but I felt at ease getting all the answers that I was looking for, and so was Persephone.

"What about my father? My other siblings?"

"Well, I don't know much about your father and who he was but all I know is that your mother did have other children, she raised them, but something happened, and she left you with the Jones family,"

"Why them though? We don't even have a connection,"

"Demeter is the goddess of fertility and does tend to bless infertile couples with a miracle baby, so you were that to the Jones family."

"So how did you know where to find me?"

"I didn't but the moment you set foot in that layer that night, I knew it was you. My entire body responded to your presence, but I knew I had to be careful. I am the one that broke the deal, I am the one that forced your mother to force you into hiding. She never got to raise you and teach you everything you needed to know to be my mate and I owe her and you a big apology."

I smiled, not only was he finally being honest, but he felt bad for everything that he had done. He had remorse and he seemed willing to make it right. Persephone welcomed that and she embraced it, and so did I.

"Hades, thank you," I say, "I appreciate you finally telling me the truth and I forgive you ad we can work on our relationship with my mother together."

"I love you; my queen and I would do anything for you."

I giggle, "I know."

He places a tender kiss on my lips, and I melt, our love had been restored.

"So, no one knows who my father is?"

"Well except your mom, but you can ask her about him."

I blow a raspberry and say okay.

"Now let's finish up here, we have an hour and a half left and we still need to get ready."

While Hades sets the table I work on a bouquet to put on the table with all the flowers that symbolise forgiveness, peace, and love. Once it's done, I put it on the table and look at it.

"Too much?" I ask Hades but he just smiles and says it's perfect.

We go upstairs to shower and get ready, and we come back down, and Hades summons them. They appear on the opposite side of the dinner table, in front of their seats.

"Thank you, guys, for coming."

"What do you want? You have some nerve calling us here after what your wife did to mine," Don says angrily.

I look at Fifi and she looks just as mad.

I squirm, "I know, and I just wanted to apologise for it. I didn't mean to hurt you, Fifi. I'm sorry."

We all stand in silence waiting for them to respond but instead they just crack up laughing.

Don snorts, "I think we have tortured you enough, right babe?"

Fifi nods and she laughs, "Yeah, Persephone we the water Wilsons don't take offence, hardly ever and I get like that sometimes, so it's water under the bridge."

I let out a sigh of relief, "Oh thank the gods, I thought I had hurt you."

"Oh please, we heal fast and forgive even faster," Don replies, "The food is getting cold, let's eat."

Hades groans and elbows him in the rib, signalling him to not murder his brother. He rolls his eyes and I drag him to the kitchen, and we serve the starters.

"Any news on Hecate?" Don asks, halfway into our starters.

Hades shakes his head, "Nothing but I've got Tyson on it."

"I think it's time we told dad about his nephews so that their mom can deal with them," Fifi adds.

Hades nods, "You're right. Those two have seriously become a pain in the ass."

"Who is their mother again?" I ask.

"Her name is Nyx, Aunty Nyx."

Oh, yeah.

"She'll know just how to deal with them," Don replies, "We just have to summon her and that's the hard part."

"Why?"

"We didn't get to that part of your lessons baby; she doesn't like being bothered and if you are it has to be for a good reason."

"And her annoying sons are a good reason," Fifi states, "We can't do this anymore."

"I'll speak to dad and get him to help us," Hades says, "She is his sister after all."

"Will sort it out."

I get up and take the dirty plates to the kitchen and start dishing the main course. I go down to the cellar to get a bottle of wine and when I return, I hear a scream coming from the dining room. I rush out and see hades and Don, crouched down on the floor, I move closer, and a person is lying on the floor, and they were barely recognisable, their face was badly beaten and bruised, I examine the face closer.

"Hecate."
