Hades

I screwed up. I screwed up badly and now she won't even look at me, nor does she want to be near me. I thought she would be turned on by it, but I guess I was wrong. It's been a week since, my transformation and since she saw me in full form, after it happened Tyson brought me home.

I woke up alone the next morning. Persephone was in the garden with Hecate, tending to my black roses and when I came down to talk to her. She gave me this look of disappointment and asked me why and I choked up and she walked away. I let her walk away and it's been like that since we greet each other. I try and say something to her, and I choke up and end up wussing out like a little bitch and she walks away from me.

"Ty, I can't go on like this, I just can't,"

Tyson chuckles, "Then stop choking up and be a man. Hades, you are better than this your highness,"

"Wow Tyson, I feel so much better," I reply sarcastically.

Tyson laughs, "She's out with Hecate. They won't be back for a while. If I was you, I would cook her favourite meal. Send the servants to their quarters early and just spend some time with my woman. get into some real talk and then fuck her to show her how much I missed her,"

He's thinking about fucking your wife.

Shut up!

"You know what Ty? I'll do just that. You're excused for the day and please tell the rest of the staff that as well," I say quickly. I feel my transformation from within.

"Alright, I'll see you later," Tyson says and vanishes. I look in the mirror and my reflection is not my own, I look at the beast staring right back at me, and I lean forward.

"They warned you that I would come back," he sneers, "But you my dear friend don't listen, now she knows, and she is scared of you,"

He lets out a cynical laugh.

"You are such a jackass," I sigh and walk away from the mirror.

"I'm the only friend, you've got Hades,"

How could I forget?

"We are not friends; you are a curse I have to bear. For me to stay alive," I say, looking through my closet for something to wear.

"Oh please, don't be so dramatic. Daddy did this to protect you because assholes like Thanos and Hypnos used to make you their little bitch," he argues.

I roll my eyes. He can be so annoying, reason why I kept him under wraps. It seems like now that he has resurfaced there is no turning back. I'll have to embrace him. While most people have an angel and a demon on their shoulders, I just have a demon, delightful.

I look in the mirror and he's smiling at me with his sharp white teeth, I hate him. He's a cocky, arrogant, son of a –

"Hades,"

Don?

I step out of my closet and find Don standing in the middle of my room, did I also mention that I hate him too?

"Whatever happened to knock dear brother?"

"He's back, isn't he?"

Shit.

"Who told you that?" I ask as I walk past time to my desk, I pour myself a glass of whiskey and then for him.

"Persephone, she came by yesterday and you've been hard to reach lately," he explains. "She didn't sound terrified, but she was concerned about the fact that you almost killed Claire."

She's not scared.

"Yes, he's back,"

Don looks at the nearest mirror and grunts.

"How? When?"

"When Persephone went out behind my back to see the twins," I reply, I hand him a glass and he takes it from me and gulps it down.

Someone is having problems of his own, he laughs.

Shut it, you bastard.

"Why didn't you say anything, Hades? We could have called dad or mom, or at least Hestia."

"Dad no, mom would just tell dad and Hestia well she's a snitch," I reply, "But he's under control, no need to worry."

"Tell that to your reflection in the mirror!" he fumes and breaks the glass in his hand.

"Poseidon, calm down, what's wrong?"

He looks at the broken glass in his hand and then back at me, he snaps his finger. Everything is cleaned up, and after a brief moment of silence, he sits down on the chair by Persephone's vanity.

"We are having issues with the baby," he confesses.

"I'm so sorry, what wrong with him?"

"Him? How do you know it's a boy?"

"Lucky guess," I chuckle nervously.

Poseidon sighs and uses his telekinesis to pour himself another glass of whiskey.

"I need Hecate to run some tests on Fifi, just to make sure that the doctor is sure of what he's seeing."

"Anything you need brother," I reply.

"So, what's the problem with the baby?"

"He'll be a be a merman," he says.

We knew this would happen.

"Oh, that doesn't sound too bad, isn't that what the Oracle said would happen, you should have been prepared,"

"I thought she was just spitting riddles and shit like she always is," he takes a deep breath in. "That means our son won't be able to live on earth with us."

"It's not like you won't be able to visit him Poseidon, you're the ruler of the oceans. You can see him anytime you want, and vacation in Atlantis and all the fucking shit. Brother, I wish we could continue this conversation, but I have dinner to prepare for myself and my wife."

"Apology dinner, been there, it always works," he chuckles. "Just don't justify your actions, apologise and let the dinner do the rest."

"Thank you, Poseidon, now leave my fucking house and go fuck your wife,"

"Jeez, are you sure you have that thing under control because you're cussing more than usual," he says.

"Yes, yes, I'm fine, now go," I say impatiently.

He simply shakes his head and disappears. I walk to the vanity mirror, and I only see my reflection, great, he's ghosted me, again. I head downstairs and prepare dinner, hoping to finish in time for our normal dinner time. I make chicken alfredo and a salad and pull out her favourite bottle of wine. I set up the lounge area for two, tossing some rose petals around and lighting a few candles, satisfied with my work. I head upstairs to shower and get dressed. I put on a pair of black ripped skinny jeans and a polo t-shirt and some sneakers. I spray on the cologne she bought when she went shopping with Bianca and Jonny.

I head back downstairs, and I hear the car pull up. I walk outside and walk over to the car and watch as my driver opens the door. She steps out of the car, and I feel something different about her, nervous energy, and something else. I just can't put my finger on it. She looks over at me and gives me a small smile. Hecate emerges from the other side of the car and will a few bags in her hand.

"Hades, my boy, come help me with these bags," she says.

I walk over to her and take the bags from her hand. I walk into the house and place the bags in the kitchen. I walk back to the foyer and find Hecate and Persephone in a warm embrace; Nena kisses the top of her head and walks away. As soon as she's out of sight, I walk over to Persephone.

"Hey baby," I greet her, and before I can say anything, she walks away, but I quickly grab her and pull her into my arms.

"The gods above punish me for doing this, but I am not letting you walk away from me again, dammit, I'm sorry Persephone."
