Persephone
I ran.
I ran as fast as I could back to the cabin. I almost killed Fifi, the only person in this family that I truly trust.
'I am trying to protect you.'
"Shut the hell up,"
"Persephone?"
Hades comes out of the cabin and gives me a worried look.
"Are you okay?"
"I almost killed Fifi, well Persephone did."
He is taken aback by my words, it probably sounded insane to him, and he probably didn't believe me. He looks over me towards the beach as though he was looking for something and then looks back at me.
"Come inside."
I get into the cabin, and he closes the door behind me. He closes the curtains, casts a spell, and snaps his fingers.
"What did you do?"
"Put a blocking spell, nothing comes in, nothing goes out. Now tell me everything that happened and do not leave anything out, you hear me."
I take in a deep breath, "I called Fifi because I needed some advice on something and then when she didn't want to help I go upset, I told her that I was tired of people keeping secrets from me and then the next thing I know, I've got my hand around her neck and-
"Okay, okay, breathe baby," Hades says calmly, "Now what did she look like/"
I feel my soul being pulled back and Hades' mouth drops open.
"Persephone please stop," I beg.
I have no control over my body, as raise from the ground.
'He needs to know who he is dealing with; they all do.'
"Persephone, calm down. You need to gain back control," I hear hades yell as he holds on to the wall, there was an intense wind blowing around me, blowing everything away and it seemed to be getting stronger.
"Persephone, please don't hurt him."
'You can't keep protecting them,' she says angrily, 'All they ever do is hurt you and lie to you.'
"For a good reason. What can I do to help you?"
'Get our baby back and I want the truth, why did they keep us locked up all those years.'
I didn't understand what she meant by locked up all those years, I would have remembered if I were being held captive.
"Okay, I promise hades and I will do everything in our power to get our baby back. Just please stop,"
Within a split second, I'm back and I'm falling from the air, but Hades catches me using telekinesis and gently lowers me to the ground.
He rushes to my side and places his hand on my forehead and then he helps me get up.
"Are you okay?"
I wrap my arms around and cry, "I am so sorry."
He rubs my back, "It's okay my love, you are okay."
I don't realise my body is shaking uncontrollably until Hades picks me up in his arms. He walks us to our bedroom, and he places me on the bed, he gets a blanket and covers me with it. He lifts my head with my chin and looks into my eyes.
"Persephone, I know your pain, I feel it too but don't punish her for it. Punish me, I'm the one that did you wrong."
Again, with confusing statements, what is with these people? No, no, stay calm.
"We need to find Hecate, as soon as possible, otherwise you'll be out of control,"
"Out of control?"
"I mean Persephone," he says, "I need to make a call."
Hades picks up his phone and dials Tyson's number.
'Sir,'
"What's the status on Hecate?"
'Nothing yet but Hermes –
"Hermes, what's Hermes got to do with anything?"
'When I interrogated him, he said he had a lead, and he –
"That little trickster should be nowhere near this, understood?"
'Yes, sir.'
"Find Hecate," and he hangs up the phone.
"We need to go home and prepare a diplomatic apology dinner for Amphitrite and Poseidon,"
He kisses my forehead, "Everything is going to be okay."
I nod, I look at the mirror in front of me and I look horrible, pale, tired, and just worn out. How did my life get so messed up?
Persephone shows herself in my reflection with a wide grin on her face, Hades looks at the mirror, and picks up an ornament.
"Don't even think about it."
And he smashes the mirror.
"We are leaving," he says as he opens a portal, "We need to be where I can protect you."
I get out of bed and walk towards him; he reaches out his hand and I take it. He pulls me into his chest.
"Hold tight, and be prepared to barf, just not on me."
We step through the portal, and we cross to the other side. I let go of Hades and the room starts to spin. I feel the contents of my stomach run up into my mouth and I make a beeline for the bathroom. I hunch over the toilet and throw up.
"Told you," Hades says from the other room.
I flush the toilet, rise my mouth, and wash my hands.
"I hate you," I say as I walk into the next room, which is our bedroom.
I plop down on the bed and Hades sits beside me.
"You don't mean that baby."
"What's wrong with me Hades? A year ago, I was just minding my business working for mama June and then you step into my life and all hell breaks loose. Why me?"
Hades sighs, "I am so sorry baby, it's all my fault. We will talk about it but right now we have to sort out this Poseidon and Fifi thing out first."
I nod, "Okay, what ritual do we need to perform?"
"Well like we did for Apollo and Artemis for not inviting them to the baby shower, we make the Poseidon couple, their favourite food as an apology."
"What if they don't accept our apology?"
"Baby they will, don't worry. We just have to play our part."
We get up from the bed and go downstairs to the kitchen to start with preparations. We put on our aprons, we get all the ingredients out and we start to prepare.
"Why don't you like Hermes baby?"
Hades' jaw clenches and he sighs, "He betrayed me, and he just has the biggest ego known to mankind."
"Betrayed you how? And he is the sweetest person alive. He helped me when I started working at Mama Junes' flower shop, helped me get my first apartment and –
"You still got feelings for him?"
I laugh and then I realise that Wade is being serious, "No baby, I don't."
"Good because he is the reason we are in this mess, to begin with, if he had just followed the plan,"
"What do you mean?"
"He messed up your kidnapping operation."
"My, what?"
