Hades

"So, are ready to meet everybody?" I ask, my beautiful wife, today he has gone with a straight-haired pink lace front. She tied it up into a neat ponytail, she paired it up with perfect make-up and hooped earrings. A baby pink dress, and white stilettos, with a white Gucci handbag.

"Nervous but I'll be okay,"

She fiddles with her dress before looking at me, she blushes and looks away, "Stop looking at me like."

I chuckle, "Like what?"

"Like I'm sex on legs," she mumbles shyly.

I can't help but laugh, she is sex on legs, and she's also my gorgeous queen. The apple of my eye and the only woman I'd kill for, literally.

She rolls her eyes in annoyance and looks out the window, we are on our way to my office, and I can tell she's nervous. It's a scary feeling, change that is, it can be overwhelming.

I take her hand and kiss it, but she refuses to look at me.

"Persephone, my love, look at me please," I plead as I kiss up her arm. I reach her cheek and she turns her head in time to kiss my lips, I smile and give her another kiss.

I sit back down and kiss her hand once more, "I know you are scared baby, but they are just people. I think they are more scared of you than you are of them, you're the boss's wife."

She sighs, "But I don't want them to be scared of me, I want them to like me."

"And they will baby girl, don't worry." I sooth.

"Thank you, baby," she smiles.

I feel the car stop and I look out the window, we have arrived. The door opens, and I step out of the car, I hold out my hand for Persephone and his small hand slips into mine. She steps out of the car and her skin glows under the sunlight. I take in her glorious beauty before putting my hand on the small of her back and ushering her into the building. I'm greeted by my receptionist, Claire.

"Claire," I greet, she looks up from her computer and her eyes immediately land on Persephone. She's jealous, angry, and disgusted by Persephone's presence. I guess my brother was right, fucking the receptionist wasn't a good idea.

She puts on a fake smile," Mr and Mrs Wilson, how are you?"

"Hi, please call me Persephone," my wife responds politely, reaching out her hand,

Claire looks at her hand in disgust before she looks at me, I'm already glaring at her, and she takes her hand and shakes it.

"Nice to meet you, ma'am," she says.

"What do you have for me today?" I ask keeping a protective arm around my wife's waist.

"Does she have to be here to listen to business matters?"

"Claire, she's my wife, I think it's pretty obvious,"

"It's okay Hades, I'll go wait by the elevator with Matthew," Persephone says, and she walks away.

"Hades, I -

"Save it. I'm going to have Sheila, send you a warning, you do not. I repeat do not disrespect my wife. You'll live to regret it, you understand me, Miss Willows," I seethe, "And from now on, you'll only address me as Mr Wilson."

I watch as her body freezes in fear, tears filling her eyes, "Yes sir,"

"Good," I turn around and walk to Persephone who gives me disapproving look.

"You didn't have to scare her like that," she says as we step into the elevator.

"I'm the King. I can do as I please and I will not tolerate anyone disrespecting my wife in front of me, they will pay for it, right Matthew?"

Tyson chuckles, "Oh they always do eventually."

Persephone looks at Tyson in disbelief, "Tyson knows?"

"He's my finest employee, loyal as hell and is a skilled punisher," I smirk.

Persephone can't believe what she's hearing but she accepts it. I know she has, her thoughts are no longer running frantically in her mind, but she does have a lot of questions. But I'll leave them to Hecate.

The elevator dings and the doors slide open, we step out and walk down the passageway to my office. Persephone slips her hand into mine and we walk hand-in-hand to the door. Tyson swipes his card, and the door opens, we walk in, and I hear Persephone gasp.

"This is beautiful Hades," she squeals, and she scurries to the window to look out. She squeals again and takes her phone out of her bag and starts taking selfies of herself, the view and both her and the view.

"I have never seen anyone this excited about your office before, except for the dumb hoes you brought here." Tyson chuckles.

Matthew, my tall, dark, and handsome friend, also has no filter between his brain and his mouth. We've been friends for eternity. He was the first person I got to know when I took my rightful place as God of the underworld.

"Tyson, shut up," I growl.

He laughs, "You have to tell her eventually. Does she know what you've gotten her into or you're just hoping that Hecate does the work for you?"

Why does he have to be so accurate?

"I'll tell her don't worry. I  want her to enjoy it before things go crazy," I explain, "I just don't know how to break it to her, you know."

"At some point, you have to man, or you'll lose her forever, and I'm sure that would make the twins. Hermes and Demeter are happy, and we all know what that means,"

I groan, "I can't do it, I can't."

"You just have to find the willpower to do it man, or someone else will beat you to it," Tyson says.

And like always he is right. Persephone needs to know what's going on and what is going to happen before it does. We already got our first warning from The Gorgon Sisters, and the second on probably going to happen soon.

"Any word from the Council though? They should have come up with some kind of solution,"

I shake my head.

Tyson walks to my whiskey cabinet, takes a bottle out, opens it and drinks straight from the bottle.

"Tyson you barbarian, use a glass, how many times do I have to tell you?"

Tyson laughs, "I love watching you little ass bitch out."

Persephone skips to my desk, and comes to sit on my lap, "I'm hungry."

Of course, she is. She's always hungry.

"Ty, order us some food please."

Tyson gulps his drink down, "Can I take the whiskey with me?"

"No Tyson, one more parking ticket, and you'll be going to AA, and I'm sure you don't want that."

He growls, "Humans and your laws."

I chuckle, and I tell him what we want to eat, and he leaves. Persephone gets up from my lap and looks down at me.

"Thank you for bringing me here, I can't wait to meet everyone else," she says.

I kiss her hand, "I'm glad you like it. Why don't we go meet everyone else while Tyson is getting our food."

She gives me a nod, and we leave my office; I introduce her to the key staff members and subordinates. They all welcome her with open arms and take a liking to her kind-hearted nature. A few of them do make heart eyes at her, but she pays no attention to it, keeping her main focus on the people.

I chose right. Well, the gods chose right. I watch as she throws her head back in laughter as she talks to the female staff members. I catch Claire at the corner of my eye, glaring at her with evil intent.

I guess now, I just have to kill her.
