Hades
What have I done to deserve such a hangover? Oh yeah, I know, I drank too much. For a celestial being, I thought I could handle alcohol, but I'm proven wrong every time. It sounds like cymbals are playing in my head. I'm dizzy, and my stomach turning, is this what morning sickness feels like? I need to stop going hard on the strong stuff.
Shit, I haven't even opened my eyes yet. I don't think I want to it usually ends up with me feeling much worse.
"Baby, are you awake?"
Persephone, I open my eyes and I immediately regret it. I tightly close my eyes in hopes of stopping the spinning room.
"You don't know how to handle alcohol, weak," she laughs.
I groan, "Shut up,"
"That's no way to talk to your wife and Hecate gave me a remedy to help cure your hangover," she replies. I feel her sit down on the bed beside me, I slowly open my eyes and boy do I love what I'm seeing. My beautiful wife, she's wearing her black silk slip-on dress, no make-up, no wig, just natural beauty.
"Good morning beautiful," I smile.
"It's two in the afternoon Hades Wilson, you've overslept, had my first lesson without you but I did good," she chuckles.
I sit up on the bed, "Ow, my head hurts. I'm sorry I missed your first-class baby; I'll make it up to you."
She gives me a warm smile; she's going to make me pay for it later. Persephone hands me a glass of water and a pill. I take the pill and drink the water; she takes the glass and gives me a cup of coffee.
"You want something, don't you?" I ask, her eyes turn pink, and she sighs.
"Yes, I want to go shopping, there is a sale at Gucci and mama needs a new dress or dresses,"
She's lying to me; her eyes are grey.
"Okay, you can go up, you can use the Jeep and my card but makes sure you are home before dinner okay? Now that you are queen, people want your head on a stake," I say sipping on my coffee.
She kisses my forehead, "Thank you Hades and I promise I'll be back in time for dinner."
"Good girl, and please call me if you need anything okay."
She nods and makes a beeline for the closet. I hear her fumbling with some things after a few minutes she walks out with her purse and a jacket. She'd put on a pair of white Nike sneakers.
"Okay, I'm going, I'll see you later," she says and leaves the room. I slowly get out of bed and teleport my way up to earth, and into the house.
She is lying to me, and I want to find out why.
"You think she's lying too," Hecate says making me jump, I forget she can teleport too, she rarely ever uses her powers.
"Dammit Hecate, are you trying to kill?" I whisper harshly.
"Mind your tone young man," she scolds, "I didn't mean to scare you."
"Sorry Nena, what do you think she's hiding?"
Hecate sighs, "I think she's meeting someone; you don't like."
"There are a lot of people I don't like,"
"But she only knows a few, Hades," she counters.
Damn, she's right. I need to find out who this person is and figure out why she lied to me. We've only been married a day and we already heading for disaster, I don't want a Kardashian scenario.
I leave the balcony and make my way to the master bedroom to take a shower. I'm disappointed, to say the least, she should know by now that she can't lie to me.
I take a quick shower and change into some black skinny jeans, and a black shirt, pairing it was some black puma sneaks and a gold watch. I get my hair and grab the keys to my Jaguar.
"Hecate, I'm leaving," I call out as I walk to the front door.
"Going to spy on your wife?" she asks.
"I want her to know that she can't lie to me and get away with it, I will not tolerate lies," I say angrily.
"Be careful Hades, some things aren't always what they seem, okay? Maybe she had a good reason,"
Great, another woman has turned on me.
"I haven't turned on you. I'm trying to get you to see things from all perspectives Hades. I don't want you or her ruining your relationship over something small," she explains.
"She started it, okay, if she had been honest with me, this wouldn't be happening!" I yell.
The room shakes.
Calm down Hades.
"Hades please, you don't want her to see this side of you, calm down and see reason," Hecate says walking towards me.
Dammit.
"Okay, okay but I need to know why she lied Hecate. At least let me have that," I say, and I leave the house, banging the door behind me.
She's going to scold me for this later but right now I have to find Persephone. Which will be easy, having put a tracker in my car. I walk to my garage and take the car keys to my Ferrari out of my pocket and turn off the alarm. I unlock the door and get into my car.
"Hades,"
Fuck shit.
"I'm guessing Hecate called you," I sigh, opening the car tracker app on my phone.
"You know she means well Hades; she just doesn't want you messing things up, especially now," my brother says.
I put my phone in the cup holder and looked at my brother, he had a hickey on his neck, I wish I had one.
You would have had one if you hadn't gotten drunk on your wedding night, he chuckles.
"Don't remind me," I groan, "How's Amphitrite and the baby?"
He sighs, "I swear my dick is going to fall off before this baby is even born, not that I'm complaining, I just can't keep up with her."
I laugh, "It's always been like that with you two, you just can't keep up with her."
"Shut up, where are we going?"
"Central Mall, at least that's where the car is parked," I say as I start the engine, "For her sake, I hope she's there."
