Izuku wasn't the only student who visited Aizawa's office frequently. Izuku was just the only little he encountered. Until a spiky little blond decided to visit one sunny warm afternoon.
Every one of his students were out playing like they were little kids again. Aizawa watched from the window, seeing Izuku losing his little mind over the pro hero themed kites a few students had brought from home.
The only person Aizawa couldn't see was Bakugou, but most people would expect that. Aizawa though, was aware that the blond was normally with the rest of them even at least from a distance. It was odd to find him nowhere insight. He could have sworn he saw him chasing Kaminari and Kirishima earlier.
A harsh knock at his office door gave him his answer, recognizing Katsuki's knock. "Come in."
Instead of the door being bashed open like he first predicted, it was gently pushed open just far enough for the blond to slip inside. His student kept his head down, his hair hiding his expression as he slipped through with an unusually graceful step.
Aizawa felt deja vu hit him like a truck as he finally got a glimpse of Katsuki's dazed expression with sun bitten skin, similarly looking like he'd woken up from a good nap. Only difference was the boy looked to be in pain.
Bakugou met his eyes and quickly looked down, "M'face burns..." he slurred.
"Did you put sunscreen on?"
He received a head shake.
"You've probably got a sunburn then."
Katsuki made a little 'o' face, and turned to leave the room, but Aizawa called out to him, "Bakugou come here, I can make it stop hurting."
Katsuki paused, and angled his torso enough for the boy to hang his head near upside down to look back at his teacher. "Y'can?"
It was such a childish display Aizawa had no doubts that Katsuki was also a little. "Yes, c'mere kid."
Due to Katsukis random angle, the little stumbled back into the room, almost smashing his head onto the edge of Aizawa's desk if he didn't catch him with the most dad-like reflexes.
He found the little to be uncoordinated, he slurred about being dizzy and he wasn't sure if that was a result of dropping into littlespace, or the sun sickness he clearly had.
"Sit down here." Aizawa softly instructed, guiding the boy onto the couch. Katsuki tried to hike his feet up so Aizawa had to take the boy's shoes off, revealing All Might socks.
He couldn't help but chuckle at that, for acting like sworn enemies, his two top problem children were quite similar.
Katsuki pouted at Aizawa's response, and thumped his sock clad feet on the couch in a small fashion tantrum. He gave Katsuki a raised eyebrow and the boy didn't attempt to stomp the couch again. Simply looking away and mumbling, "m'face hurts..."
Aizawa ruffled the boy's hair and said, "I know it does kiddo, I'll get you some aloe for it."
As he walked back to his desk he could hear some irritated grunts and glanced back to see Katsuki fixing his hair with clumsy hands.
He retrieved the aloe vera gel from his desk, finding some of Izuku's fidget toys and bringing them with him too. He held an All Might fidget spinner out to Katsuki, who lit up upon seeing the item.
As he played with it, Aizawa gently applied the gel to Katsuki's rosy red cheeks. Then checked for other sunburned areas, covering his neck and partially his chest and upper back. Katsuki seemed to take the treatment in stride, letting Aizawa move him around, relinquishing control in such a childlike trusting fashion.
And then when Katsuki truly trusted him, he revealed a stuffed animal from underneath his shirt.
"Dis is Disaster Floppers..." Bakugou mumbled, "Floppy for short."
Aizawa was beginning to see a parallel. The old green monster of fluff had long 'floppy' ears and big eyes that were partially covered with fur. Some parts of the stuffie were damaged, singed edges and discoloration most likely from around the time Katsuki was getting used to his quirk as a child. Even with all the damage, Aizawa guessed it to be a green bunny and found it oddly fitting for the little thumper in his lap.
"It's... nice to meet Disaster Floppers-"
"-Floppy!"
"Floppy." He corrected.
Aizawa ran a soothing hand down Katsuki's back as he finished smoothing aloe into the last patch of angry pink skin just beneath the neckline of his shirt.
"There we go," he said gently, capping the bottle and setting it on the coffee table. "That should help."
Katsuki sniffled once, eyes glossy but not crying. He looked down at the fidget spinner turning lazily between his fingers, but didn't spin it again. Instead, he shifted closer and leaned against Aizawa's chest with an awkward sort of hesitance, as if waiting to be pushed away.
He wasn't.
"You're really warm," Aizawa muttered. He rested the back of his hand on Katsuki's forehead. "And your coordination's shot. I think you're a little sun-sick."
"M'not sick," Katsuki mumbled. "Jus'... hot."
"Sunburn and heat exhaustion kind of go hand in hand, kid. You're lucky you came to me when you did."
Katsuki grumbled under his breath, clearly not liking the word "lucky," but he didn't argue any further. He just curled up tighter beside Aizawa, burying his face into the man's capture weapon draped around his shoulders.
After a few quiet moments, Aizawa felt the boy's breathing start to slow.
"Did Floppy get hurt when you were little?" Aizawa asked, breaking the silence.
"Uh-huh. When I was learnin' boom-booms," Katsuki whispered, voice muffled. "I used ta take him everywhere so he got... 'sploded."
Aizawa nodded like this was the most normal thing in the world. "But you kept him anyway."
"'Cause he's mine," Katsuki muttered possessively.
The answer made Aizawa's chest ache just a little. "Good. That's what matters. You took care of him, even when he was hurt."
Bakugou blinked at that and seemed to chew over the words. Slowly, his expression softened. He didn't say it, but the message lingered: Even when I'm hurt... you'll take care of me too?
Aizawa shifted so the boy could settle more comfortably against him, carding fingers through wild blond hair. "Do you want a nap, or some water first?"
Katsuki made a small grumble of protest at the idea of being babied further, but then yawned - a real, jaw-cracking one. His head lolled.
"Nap..." he finally relented, voice barely audible.
Aizawa smiled faintly. "Alright, nap it is."
He let Katsuki lie down fully on the couch, placing Floppy under one arm and tucking a light throw blanket over him. He dimmed the lights in his office and sat nearby, opening a book but keeping an eye on the boy.
Katsuki had already drifted off before he turned the first page, cheeks still pink, fingers curled loosely in Floppy's frayed ears.
Just like Izuku, Aizawa thought with a wry smile, but louder, and maybe with a few more singe marks.
