You know those moments where you can't help but react in a childish way. You can't open something, and you don't realize you've gotten upset and stomped your foot, nor do you recognize the pout on your face?

Let's say you need something off the top shelf, but you can't reach it. The obvious thing to do is get a chair or ask someone to help. But stubborn as a mule. You decide to climb the countertop.

Or maybe you're having an argument, and you aren't winning, you get angry but not to the point you hurt someone. Just to the point you get petty and decide childish responses aren't below you anymore. 'I know what you are, but what am I?"

This happens to a lot in class 1-a.

Kirishima thrives on these moments. The caregiver part of him gets to come out and he feels like he is needed, being relied on is the best feeling to him. His ability to be in control and his capabilities to keep everyone safe is what keeps him going most days.

And all his classmates realized that after a class training session goes wrong.

They were doing faux rescue situations in groups. But the building collapsed on Kirishima's group, trapping himself with Iida and Tsu, both who were near crushed under stone pillars if not for Kirishimas' quick reflexes. But Kirishima couldn't save everyone.

Bakugou, Izuku, and Jirou were separated from the group, having crashed down a couple of floors. Bakugou was knocked unconscious, sustaining a concussion upon further inspection once retrieved from the crash site. Izuku had broken an arm, and Jirou breathed in too much smoke and had to stay overnight at a hospital.

At the news, Kirishima just broke. A serious anxiety attack over the safety of his friends (and knowing there was nothing he could do about it) left them realizing exactly what they should do to help him. By letting him help them!

When Ochaco couldn't get her snack wrapper open, frustrated, she puffed her cheeks out and pouted. The unbridled joy on Kirishina's face was obvious as she held her food out and whined, "Help!" to the red head. He happily ripped open the bag and handed it back.

Suddenly, everyone needed help opening their food too. Kaminari and Sero pushing and shoving to reach Kirishima first. In which he sent the boys back and was told to "walk nicer and politely ask for help." It was supposed to be embarrassing, but neither boy minded, actually listening to Kirishima.

The class decided to sit down for a movie. Tsu and (name) pretended to fight over the remote, not being able to pick a movie that they all wanted to watch.

Kirishima stepped up, took the remote from both of them and had the class do a vote between 2 movies he listed, both were family friendly of course. Marmaduke, or Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Alvin and the chipmunks won, and it gave them the potential to watch the full 3 movie series, giving them more time to help make Kirishima feel better.

Bakugou was advised to stay away from screens because of his concussion so he sat next to Kirishima, wearing his ridiculous shark eye mask, and continued to listen to the movie instead, letting Kirishima throw an arm around him. Even Bakugou knew Kirishima needed the comfort so badly he was willing to relinquish his personal space.

When everyone fell asleep in the common room, Kirishima retrieved some blankets and tucked them all in. The heavy feeling in his chest slowly lifting.

...

"Hey Kirishima?"

"Yeah?"

"We were thinking of going to the park, maybe have a picnic or something tomorrow," Mina said softly, peeking around the corner of the common room where he was tucking in the last of their classmates. "You in?"

Kirishima looked around at the softly breathing group, the quiet hum of the TV still playing the credits to Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel. Kaminari was snoring into a half-empty chip bag. Ochaco had somehow curled into a perfect ball. Even Bakugou, shark mask slightly askew, had relaxed into a peaceful stillness beside him.

Kirishima smiled, warmth swelling in his chest. "Yeah," he said, brushing some crumbs off Kaminari's hoodie before standing up. "I'd like that."

"We'll pack your favorite," Mina said with a grin, tossing him a wink before slipping away.

He turned one last time, taking in the sight of his ridiculous, chaotic, wonderful friends-safe, alive, and warm under the blankets he'd tucked around them.

And for the first time in days, Kirishima didn't feel the pressure in his chest anymore. Just a quiet peace.

Being strong didn't always mean holding the world up alone. Sometimes, it just meant being there... and letting them be there too.

He followed Mina into the hallway, whispering to himself with a smile,
"Manly picnic time. Let's do this."

I thought I would do something different this time. When I move the emoji over to the left when it's just one name in the Chapter title, it means we are gonna focus on the caregiver side of things rather than littlespace.
