Shouto isn't one to talk while in littlespace but still receives the utmost attention from Bakugou. Pair requested ❤

(Includes headcanons: deaf Bakugou & selectively mute Shouto)

Shouto had never been much of a talker, and with his added trauma over time, he had become selectively mute. At first, he thought he was broken, and useless. He was terrified at the thought of what hero life would be like with his disability. He tried to fight it with everything he could but ended up failing every time. His age regression (which came along later) didn't make things easier either.

He didn't think of embracing it until Bakugou came along.

One day Bakugou had walked into the common room, just as Shouto had gone mute. His classmates had all left for the mall and he was too overwhelmed to agree to go with them, having stayed silent, and in doing so was left behind.

The blond wanted to talk to him but noticed Shouto struggling to come up with words.

So then Bakugou did a very magical thing.

Little Shouto called it 'speaking hands', which was true in some sense. Bakugou had brought his hands up and started giving simple signs.

"Notes." He echoed as he made a gesture in sign language, encouraging Shouto to follow along with fumbling hands. "Class. Notes."

Oh... Shouto shook his head, his mind felt too fuzzy and small to write notes that day.

Bakugou wasn't disappointed, he nodded, but also didn't leave after receiving an answer. Instead, he had a small look of concern. He pointed to Shouto, then brought his fist to his throat with a crooked pointer finger and twisted it, while saying. "You mute?"

Shocked to be asked, he simply stared at Bakugou, who took his silence as an answer. He didn't sign this time and asked, "do you know sign language?"

Shouto blinked. Bakugou sighed, "do you want to learn?"

It took a second for Shouto to process the question, not knowing how to answer and shrugging.

Bakugou rolled his eyes. "Whatever. I'll teach you anyway." He sat down on the couch and beckoned Shouto over, beginning to teach him a few simple signs whether or he wanted to know or not.

A few hours later, Shouto could finally speak again, the first thing he asked was, "why do you know sign language?"

Bakugou looked at him like he was an idiot. "I'm deaf." He said it as if it was common knowledge.

When he noticed Shouto confused, he turned his head to show the hearing aid in his ear. "What the heck did you think this was?"

"An... accessory?"

"My god halfy..." Bakugou sighed, his hand meeting his forehead in a soft slap.

The dual hair coloured male ignored Bakugou's gesture. "Can...you teach me more sign language?" he shyly asked.

Bakugou never answered him, his actions speaking louder than words as he continued to teach him sign language in between classes and after school. He barged into Shouto's room whenever he wanted and usually Shouto never minded, but one day changed their relationship.

...

Shouto froze, his old teddy clutched tightly in his arms as he jumped at the sight of Bakugou promptly entering his room.

Bakugou mimicked Shouto's movements, books clutched tightly to his chest as he froze at the sight of his classmate on the floor with a variety of little toys and accessories surrounding him.
