The security guard had seen a small crowd in front of the school gate so he went to see what was happening and there he saw a girl on the floor hyperventilating and a boy trying to comfort him.
He had wanted to call an ambulance but the boy asked for a taxi instead. He needed to go home with his sister. All the spectators just watched things unfolding some with phones rolling.
He wondered what had happened and a few minutes later, he helped the young man and her sister when the taxi came.
Gulf held his sister in the taxi sobbing his pain out. It wasn't supposed to be like this. It wasn't supposed to be Mew's family responsible for his family's suffering.
As soon as he got home, the mother was surprised to see Gulf carrying Faffy crying as if his sister was dead.
"Why what's wrong?" The mother rushed to him as he moved his sister to her room.
"He's back mae, the person who hurt her is back."
Gulf's mother sighed relieved as she realized her kids were startled. She removed Gulf out of the room and she stayed in with Faffy. Gulf's crying was only exacerbating Faffy's condition making her more restless. She tucked her in and calmed her down gently patting her shoulders giving her assurance that mommy was there with her. It took a while but Faffy eventually fell asleep, periodically shivering as if she was cold. The mother left the room quietly and went to Gulf who had also calmed down.
She had improved a bunch in her role of being a mother in the past year. The doctor had suggested some parental books for her to read and she was learning.
"Come here, mommy is right here for you." She opened her arms wide open sitting next to a distressed Gulf on the bed. Gulf went in and sighed feeling a headache coming. However he felt comforted in his mother's arms like this.
He slowly told her what happened beginning with the moment he saw Mew with bruises after a year of healing.
He told her how they argued because Mew didn't want to tell him what had happened and who was abusing him again. He told her how Mew had changed their plans during the weekend and claimed to be sick. He said he felt bad that Mew was being hurt during the weekend and he didn't know it.
He told her how they were on their way out after school, the three of them when a car with Mew's brother came to pick him up and Faffy started hyperventilating and said it was the person who raped her.
"But do you know what hurts more mae?" Gulf chocked as he felt more tears approaching and he swallowed a sob,
"He stopped me and went with this phi. Even when he hurts him and even when he knows his phi raped my sister and how we all suffered from it, he still went with his phi. How could he choose that criminal over me? When I love him so much? When I can protect him?"
The mother listened as Gulf poured his heart out. She knew Mew and Gulf were in a relationship and she was supportive of it since Mew played a huge role in Faffy getting better. But now realizing that it was Mew's brother who did that to her daughter made her feel bitter.
"Do you want to know what mommy thinks?"
Gulf nodded on his mother's chest,
"I think he wanted to protect you that's why he took his brother away. Right now let's call the police officer who helped us last year. Remember he came to apologize for not being able to solve the case? Let's call him and tell him this so he can arrest him."
Phin and Sert came to Gulf's house as soon as they received the call. Phin came with the pictures he had a year ago.
After exchanging greetings with the family, Phin asked to talk to Faffy and Gulf went to get his sister. Phin asked her questions and produced the pictures of Manny and uncle, Faffy confirmed it was the person who raped her and Gulf confirmed it was Mew's brother.
"So Mew's brother sexually assaulted Faffy and his parents got him out of the country. The day Manny left he physically abused his brother which means Mew kept quiet because he wanted to protect his brother."
Gulf was crushed when he heard the police officer give an account of events.
Sert then chirped in with another contribution, "Then the driver knew what had happened but he decided to keep quiet."
Phin looked at Sert and snapped his finger, "which leaves his accident with Faffy more questionable."
"Faffy," Sert called out, "what happened that day? Did you really jump infront of the car like he claimed?"
Faffy slowly shook his head, "I didn't. I was trying to cross the road when he hit me with the car."
Gulf held Faffy's hands with a troubled frown on his face,
"Why didn't you say anything? You could've have told the adults or me, you could've told Mew about his driver. The man drove us everywhere and you still kept quiet?"
To think that Faffy endured all the rides being uncomfortable in the car with that person bothered him so much.
"I told p'Mew." Faffy muttered with a low unconfident voice.
Gulf chuckled with disbelief. Of course Mew knew. It was so unbelievable that Mew had done this to him. He stood up and went to drink some water. Then temperature in the room was rising.
"When did you tell him?" Phin asked,
"When we were transferred to his hospital room. I saw uncle leaving his room and I asked Mew about him and I also told him that he intentionally hit me with a car."
Phin and Sert looked at each other and Phin spoke first as Gulf returned with a glass of water.
"Then it means the whole family is involved in this case."
Gulf could feel all his energy relinquish and he tried to keep his fingers tight on the glass of water.
The door opened and everyone in the room turned to see Gulf's father come in with some guests,
"I met them outside they said they would like to see you Gulf."
The father stepped aside and the two males dressed in leather jackets approached who they thought to be Gulf.
Everyone didn't see it coming when one of them produced some cuffs saying,
"Gulf Traipipattanapong you're under arrest for physically assaulting Manny Jongcheveevat."
