I am not the main character.
Growing up, my mother was very protective. She never allowed me to spend the night at friends houses, I never played in any sports, I wasn't allowed to play video games or wrestle with my brothers. I was allowed to read.
Don't get me wrong, enforcing your child to read and limiting them on video games and physical activity wasn't necessarily a bad thing. But after the age of seven, I found myself having a difficult time deciphering what is and isn't real. After awhile, I began to question if I was even real, or if anyone around me was.
Nobody I have ever met was nearly as heroic and unique as those I read about in my books.
That was, until I met him.
In this story, I am not the main character, but merely a storyteller telling a story about about a boy with a big heart and fire in his soul:

My best friend,
My soulmate,
