I awoke with a gasp, clutching my pained racing heart as my eyes dart around the unfamiliar room. Dark grey walls, a large bed, no windows, and a solid wooden door that could withstand my strength. The room was plain, only containing my new bed and dresser. I slid out of the bed, tracing my hands along the walls in search of a secret compartment.
Well, fuck. I think when I find nothing. I try the door, but it's locked and just like I thought. It can withstand my strength, my bloody fists can attest to that. My heart aches with pain, throbbing with agony in each beat. Every fiber in my being, is pissed at Fleet and hurt that I'm forced in here.
I jump onto the large bed, grinning at my new idea. I should scream to see if there are thin walls, or they have some kind of surveillance on me. I start jumping on the bed, letting loose a high-pitched scream.
Soon after, the door gets thrown open with all of my family rushing inside. I go a higher octave, causing the wolves in the room to whine. I stop, smirking at them before jumping off the bed and landing straight on top of Lake. He groans, staggering into the dresser. I smirk, elbowing him in the neck and bolting out the door.
"TANYA!" Uncle Jaymes shouts, I just giggle and open the first door I see that leads outside. A backyard, but it leads into a forest. I bolt away with my wolf speed, not realizing the guards were outside and now following me.
Footsteps crunch through the icy snow, the harsh wind biting at my nose. I hear a pause, a body slicing through the air towards me. I snarl as hands grab onto me, twisting us in the air and throwing my body into a tree. I snarl, trying to get to my feet as the cold seeps through my clothes and claws at my freezing skin.
My hands and feet are quickly bound with steel, leather then tied around the rings of steel to keep them there. I snarl, about to release a scream, but they are ahead of me. They quickly gag me, a sickly sweet serum coating my lips and entering my mouth. A fucking relaxer!
I go limp, angry at how powerful the drug is. Someone picks me up, cradling me against them like a child as my eyelids slide shut. My body gently sways as they move swiftly, getting me back to my prison. Warmth encases me, a door shutting softly before worried voices begin to yell.
"What the fuck did you do to my niece, wolf!" Uncle Josh screams, I whimper as a tear slides down my face. Now that I'm immobile, I feel pain. Harsh pain. I feel betrayed, but I can't tell if it's from Fleet cheating on me or because he dragged me here without my approval.
"It's just a relaxer, sir. We would never hurt her in any way, she's our Queen. Not just a silly little girl." A deep, husky voice rumbles near my ear. I use everything in me to clench my fists, but I'm weak. He chuckles, my body shaking with each chuckle that falls from his mouth. I fight the drug, my mind and body finally clearing slightly.
"Can she hear us?" Sahara asks, her gaze burning into my face. Another tear goes down my face, others soon following it.
"Yes, she can. But, I don't know why she's crying. relaxers only make her limp so we can grab her and take her back without the problem of her not knowing what happened in that hour." He rumbles out, curiosity in his voice. I feel a bit of my strength trickling down my body, travelling to my clenched fists.
The guards and my family begin talking as my strength slowly comes back. I stay limp, waiting for no one's eyes to be on me. In moments, I twist and roll out of the guards arms. But, instead of hitting the floor like I expected, something strange happened.
My skin tore from my back, new limbs taking shape as black wings. I flapped unsteadily, my face just inches from the ground before my wings gave out and had me sprawled on the floor. My groan is muffled from the gag, so I roll my eyes.
"Well, that's new." Silver breaks the silence. I tuck my wings around me, rolling over onto my back slowly. I move my mouth around, finally getting the gag off me.
"What the fuck? What are these wings? An angel? Dragonshifter? No, this are feathers. But, black!" I exclaim, shaking my head as the relaxer tries to take over once again. Everyone stares at me in utter surprise, shock and awe lining their features.
"I'm everything, remember? This is my first time with this, so I have no fucking clue what this represents." I mutter, holding my hands out as my wings unfurl from my body. The same guard who held me, takes the steel and leather that bounds me off.
"So, why did you run away?" Uncle Jaymes asks me, hurt lacing his voice. I scoff, flexing my wrists and wings to get used to the feeling.
"I want to be with my mate. There's no doubt there's going to be a war, and if I can save almost everyone in that stupid ballroom, I'm sure I'm needed to win this war. Fleetwood can't handle this, he may be a vampire but I know he hates hurting people and watching the blood and life leave their body." I growl, leaping to my feet and beginning to pace as I think.
"You'd rather be with your mate! The one who murdered your mother in front of you!" Lake yells angrily. In a flash, I have him pinned against the wall with a hiss.
"Do. Not. Test. Me. He killed her because she hit me. Her own child. He regrets that split decision when the matebond took over. He had no control. He hates himself for that one mistake, and has been making it up to me every day we've been together." I snarl, feeling my eyes change color.
"Your Majesty, will you please stay? His Majesty left you a letter to read, as long as another letter for each of the Royal Highness' and one for your uncles." A woman says, bowing her head in respect.
"Call me Tanya. I hate the stupid title of Queen. I only go along with it for the press. You have no need to call me, your majesty and the Queen. Just, Tanya." I practically beg, they slowly nod before Lake hands me a thick letter with fear entering his eyes. I sit down, my eyes going over each word that was written with care. My hands trembling with each new revelation, my heart breaking with each new truth.
I knew that I was the only person who was everything, but I didn't know about a prophecy on my bloodline. And the betrayal I'm feeling right now, is not him cheating thankfully, but because he went against my wishes. I'm going to feel like this for a while.
The prophecy read -
'There would come a day, where a child will be born with everything combined. The child will either fail greatly at her task to bring eternal peace, or she will pass every test thrown her way. She will change everything, either way.'
The letter slips from my hand, hitting the ground as tears go down my face. He's going to war. And I don't know if I should join him, or stay behind.
