Two Years Later...
"Tanya! It's time to go to school!" Silver called from downstairs.
"I'm not going, remember? I'm helping Fleet today!" I called. I'm seven now and the twins are ten.
"Oh, right! See you after school!" He yelled. I heard them leave as I got dressed in a silver dress. It was floor length and made the green in my eyes stand out. My bouncy ringlets hung to my waist and I was about 4'3.
I put on the black flats and raced down the stairs to where Fleet was. We quickly ate breakfast and got into the limo. I have to be there for some reason that I'm not allowed to know until I'm sixteen. "How's school?" Fleet asked me. I shrugged, looking out the window.
"Okay, I guess... Everyone's only nice to me because I'm close to you." I say, he sighs.
"If they are bothering you, tell me. I'll help you, always." He says softly, I nod with a smile.
"Can my friends come over this weekend?" I asked, he nodded with a happy smile.
"Of course, I'll inform everyone that humans are coming over." He tells me. I sigh, I wish he wasn't so formal with me.
"What do you want for Christmas?" He asked me as I watched the snow fall rapidly from the sky. I got excited, grinning from ear to ear.
"Well, I've been wanting a puppy for a while!" I say with happiness. He smirks knowingly, a twinkle in his golden eyes.
"We'll see." He always says that when he'll get it for me. I grin and hum a song that's been stuck in my mind recently.
We reach the Council Hall, that used to be the White House. He shows me to the huge meeting room and makes me sit at the head of the table with him. The room is already full of the Representatives. We start the meeting and after a while someone raises her hand to go next.
"Recently, Rogues have been attacking small towns. Twenty people have been killed before we can get them to leave." She gives us her problem. I sigh as Fleet nudges me to answer.
"We'll send Alpha Jameson and his pack out to help along with twelve vampires. Send us a report on which towns and cities are attacked. Give us all the information on who was killed." I order, they all look stunned but nod.
We've been in and out of meetings, after the council's one, for what feels like forever. We got here around eleven, and it's now four. Thank Goddess it's Dilly's turn to pick up the twins. We're in some kind of peace meeting for some loner wolves who don't want to be in a Pack but don't want to become Rogues. My head is leaning on Fleet's shoulder and I'm almost asleep.
"And your mate?" Someone asks, their voices have been going in and out, like a radio almost out of signal.
"She is great. I just wish she knew and was older, but I will wait for the right time which will be when she is between fourteen and sixteen." Fleet's deep voice rumbled quietly.
"... and she will be Queen.... child... young...." I heard bits and pieces until I passed out. I felt myself being picked up and carried somewhere, put into a car and buckled up. The car started and I felt myself lulled back to sleep.
I briefly woke up when I was picked up again, but I went back to sleep the second my head hit a pillow. I woke up a few hours later when I was called down to dinner. I rubbed my eyes as I sat down at the table.
"So, Lilly, Dylan, Katherine, and I are going hunting. JJ and Jacky are in charge. Go to school and yes, you can have friends over this weekend. I'll see you kids next week." Fleet said before leaving.
"He's never home." I muttered. Silver and Emma give me a sympathetic glance, we finish our dinner and watch a movie in the movie theater. After our movie, we went to bed.
Fleetwood's POV
I heard her mutter those words that have been haunting me all night and caused me a deer. "He's never home." Her exact words and tone have been stuck in my mind. I knew she was feeling lonely, but I thought it was because of school. It hurts me that I was the one who hurt her. I want to go back, take her out of school for a couple weeks, and mend our relationship... but I can't.
"Fleet! Damnit! You were supposed to corner him!" Dylan shouted, I glared at him and flipped him off.
"Have you ever hurt your mate? Have you ever felt the mate bond make you want to collapse and beg on your knees for forgiveness? No! You haven't!" I hissed. I sprang at a mountain lion that was going to attack Lilly. I snapped her neck, but noticed that her cub was in the brush.
I picked the cub up and noticed it was a boy and knew nothing about our kind, for he was fearless. He purred against my chest, not at my smell but at my Tanya's smell. I beamed as a plan began to form.
"What?" Katherine asked me when she noticed my huge smile. I gathered them around and told them my plan, their own smiles told me it was worth a try. This was a better gift than a puppy.
Tanya's POV
It's Christmas morning! I hope I got that puppy! I sprint downstairs and jump onto Fleet's turned back. "Hey. Are you ready for your gift?" Fleet asked as he made sure I wouldn't fall from his back. I beamed, giggling.
"Yes!" I said excitedly.
"Call for your siblings, please." Fleet asked, I giggled.
"SILVER!!!! EMMA!!!! IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!" I screamed, Fleet winced but kept quiet. Thundering footsteps was heard from the staircase before the twins erupted and jumped onto JJ and Jacky's backs that were watching me and Fleet.
Fleet adjusted me on his back, "Come on. Your gift is out back. Jack, will you take the twins to their present in the basement?" Fleet asked, Jacky and JJ nodded.
They left as Fleet darted with his super speed to the back of the Palace and went into the forest. He set me down and whistled, a young mountain lion cub ran clumsily in and pounced on me. I giggled as the baby licked my cheek.
"This. Is your present." He waved his hand to the baby.
"What's his name?" I asked as the baby calmed down a bit.
"You get to name him." Fleet gestured for me to choose.
"Hmm, I like Warrior and Kai." I said. I looked down at the cub, which one? Kai or Warrior? I bit my lip, this was going to be hard.
