Between school, the Winter Ball planning, training, and meetings... I've been too busy to really see any of my family. I see Kai in two classes and lunch at school, then I take a nap on the ride home before we train and then I'm swept away to do other things away from my family. Today, I finally have a day off. But I need my sleep.
My plans are to sleep all day, cuddling with Fleet, and doing absolutely nothing. I slowly walk up the stairs with Fleet behind me. We throw ourselves onto his bed and he pulls me to his chest. I cuddle into him and relax.
"The council wants me to announce you as the Queen, officially. Then, we have to wait until your eighteen before I can marry you, but I might wait longer then that so you can live life fully without all the duties." He sighs, I kiss his cheek.
"Whatever you want." I murmur and let my eyes slide closed. I relax tiredly into his frame and quickly fall asleep.
Someone knocking hurriedly on the door woke me up. "King! King!" They called loudly, I groan while Warrior quickly got up from his spot on the floor with a growl.
"Go away! It's my day off!" Fleet growled and nuzzled his head further into my neck.
"But King! Someone suspicious is here for the Queen and is asking for her! He won't leave!" They exclaimed, making us sit up. We quickly changed and I brushed my hair. We followed the messenger boy down to our meeting room. I stayed close to Fleet, in case I need protecting. Fleet pushes open the wooden doors for the room.
Annie and Jerison are holding an older man with greying, black curly hair and wise blue eyes. His weathered face showing kindness, but his bulk showing he could kill anyone if he wanted to. I shuddered slightly when he stared straight at me, but something was calling me to him. Something told me to trust him.
"Hello, Tanya." He says in his gravelly voice. He looks so familiar, and his voice...
"I'm sorry, but do I know you?" I ask as I take a couple steps away from Fleet. Warrior studies me and this man, not sure what to think.
"Yes, you once knew me. It was a long time ago, though." He says with a chuckle, he twitches his fingers and I find myself walking closer to him.
I stopped a few feet away from him and studied his features, again. He smiled at me warmly, his eyes clouding with tears.
"Tanya, come back here. We don't know who he is." Fleet worriedly demands. I can't seem to find anything bad about this person. I know him, but I don't know how.
"You were about as high as my knee the last time I saw you, Butterfly." He hinted, my eyes widened when memories flashed before my eyes.
"U-uncle?" I ask, he nods. I race into his arms and hug him close. Annie and Jerison, hesitantly let go of him and let him catch me. He sat down in one the chairs and held me close, his shoulders shaking from silent cries.
"Butterfly, the last time I saw you was your brothers funeral. After that, your father killed himself from the grief." He murmurs, I put my head on his shoulder as he hugs me tightly. I hear Warrior whine in confusion, still tense. I flicked my hand to show him everything was fine. He licked my hand and set his head on my Uncle's leg.
"This is going to sound bad, but I don't remember your name." I say sheepishly, he laughs.
"I'm your Uncle Jaymes, your fathers side. Your mom has a brother, Josh. Your brother's name was Noah." He tells me hurriedly.
"Why didn't I remember you?" I ask quietly, barely hearing everyone leave me in here. He cracks a sad smile.
"You saw me when you were four. After a couple months, toddlers tend to forget people." He answers.
