How have you ruined yourself this much?
Your mind and body are littered with lies,
scars and stories you have spun
to make this world feel sorry for you.
But that's what you love, isn't it?
The weeping angels stepping towards you
with out-stretched arms,
ready to strangle you
the second you pick yourself up again?
Boys rush forward with promises
they have no intention of keeping,
and you let them.
You know you will break in a matter of moments,
but they make a temporary home
in your heart anyway.
You give them your all
just so they can take it,
shattering your heart to smithereens.
For every demon you allowed to break you,
a piece of your soul was diminished.
Now you have a different mask
for every occasion.
One to hide the tears you shed,
one for your father,
another for the boy who did all he could
to save you.
Isn't this what you want?
A body so hellbent on pleasing a cruel world
that it is always running on empty,
seconds away from breaking down?
Didn't you do this to yourself?
Didn't you?
Didn't you?
Through all of your tears and broken pieces
of a soul you could never own,
you fight.
You fight so that you can make it
throughto tomorrow.
