You were my favorite song
in a deadly silence.
A pin wouldn't dare to drop in this prison.
All of the guards are watching.
Don't let them in or let them down.
Don't give them a reason to break you.
Don't dig your own grave.
You were a comforting fire
in the coldest winter.
Wrapped me up, safe and warm.
What do I do
when you shove me away,
locking the gates behind you?
I fought for you.
Crossed boundaries for you.
I broke so many rules.
I changed my life for you.
And what did I get?
Locked doors and bars on windows.
A dark room, seemingly abandoned.
I want to scream
but I say nothing.
I do nothing.
What does one do
if they are told to be invisible?
What does one do
if the guy disguised as a man-
who promised to stay-
runs the first chance hegets?
