She was hurt.
No. She was shattered.
All this time, Jisoo kept telling herself that Taehyung just needed time. That maybe one day, he would look at her, not as a responsibility, not as a burden, but as someone...his.
But today, his words made everything clear.
He didn't just not love her. He didn't even like her.
Then what was everything that happened between them? Those moments. Those glances. The way he held her.
Was that nothing for him?
A bitter smile touched her lips.
Of course it was nothing.
She was the only one who gave meaning to it.
She wiped her tears harshly.
Enough.
She couldn't cry like this anymore. She had to be strong.
If he didn't want her, she wouldn't force him.
She knew she was wrong too. She had been selfish. She asked Grandpa to arrange this marriage without even thinking about what he wanted. She thought maybe if they stayed together, things would fall into place.
But she was wrong.
And now, it was time to fix her mistake.
She sat down on a nearby bench, her mind drowning in thoughts, when suddenly she felt a hand on her shoulder, calling her softly.
She flinched, her heart skipping a beat.
But as she turned...
"Jinyoung-sshi?"
He stood there, looking at her with shock and concern.
"Jisoo...were you crying?"
His voice was soft, yet filled with worry.
At that moment, something inside her broke again. She tried to hold it in, but she couldn't.
Tears spilled down her cheeks once more.
"Jisoo?" he called gently, his expression softening further.
And before she knew it, she had stepped forward, burying herself into his arms.
He hugged her immediately, one hand gently patting her back.
"It's okay...it's okay," he murmured.
His warmth felt safe. Comforting. But it wasn't the warmth she wanted.
"Why are you crying?" he asked softly.
"I...I..." Her voice broke.
He sighed quietly and pulled back just enough to look at her, wiping her tears with his thumbs.
"Alright," he said gently. "You don't have to say anything now. Calm down first, okay?"
She nodded weakly.
After a few moments, her sobs finally subsided.
"Thank you...Jinyoung-sshi," she whispered.
He smiled softly. "It's okay."
"How did you know I'm here?"
"Rosé told me she was in Paris," he replied. "But I didn't expect to find you like this...I was just passing by."
She lowered her gaze, unable to meet his eyes.
"Jinyoung-sshi, I was just—"
"It's okay," he interrupted gently. "If you're not comfortable, you don't have to tell me."
