The next morning or rather afternoon, came with a disturbance Taehyung didn't appreciate.

"Bro, get up!"

He groaned, pulling the pillow over his head. "Let me sleep, you pain-in-ass."

"Nope." Two hands grabbed his shoulders and shook him harder. "It's already 2 PM!"

"I don't care..."

"Do you also not care about Namjoon hyung's engagement party?"

That made him pause.

"I remember," he mumbled. "We still have time."

"And I don't want to be late because of you," Jungkook shot back. "Now get up."

Taehyung sighed in defeat. Arguing with him was pointless. "Fine."

Dragging himself out of bed, he headed to the bathroom, trying to wake himself up. Somehow, he had a feeling today wasn't going to be as ordinary as he wanted it to be.

The party was already lively when they arrived.

Soft music filled the air, laughter echoed across the hall and elegant lights reflected off polished floors. People moved around in groups, dressed perfectly for the occasion.

Jungkook's eyes lit up instantly.

"V!" he whispered dramatically, "look around. So many girls. Let's go have some fun."

"At least let's meet Namjoon hyung first." Taehyung replied.

"Yeah, yeah but where is he?"

They scanned the crowd before finally spotting him, standing with a group of people, a woman beside him.

"That must be his fiancé." Jungkook muttered.

Before they could approach, Namjoon noticed them.

"Taehyung! Jungkook! Over here!"

"Hey, hyung!" Jungkook grinned. "Congratulations!"

"Congratulations, hyung" Taehyung added with a smile.

"Thanks, guys," Namjoon said warmly.

Jungkook crossed his arms dramatically. "You didn't even tell us you had a girlfriend and suddenly you invite us to your engagement?"

"Yeah," Taehyung added. "That's not fair."

Namjoon chuckled. "Everything happened really fast. But..." he gestured to the woman beside him, "this is Jihyo. My fiancé."

"Hello." Taehyung greeted politely.

"Hi! Congratulations." Jungkook added.

"Thank you," Jihyo smiled. "Namjoon talks about you both a lot."

"All good things, I hope." Taehyung said lightly.

"Of course," Namjoon laughed. "Now go, enjoy the party."

"We will." Jungkook replied instantly.

After some time, Taehyung found himself near the drinks table, away from the crowd.

Peaceful. At least, for a moment.

"Bro, what are you doing here alone?" Jungkook suddenly appeared beside him.
