Jungkook was bored without V and decided he couldn't wait any longer. He booked the next flight to Korea, deciding to surprise him. He didn't even bother informing him. He wanted the shock factor.
Stepping out of the airport, his attention was immediately caught by a girl. She was breathtaking, like an angel had walked onto the tarmac. He scanned her face carefully, taking in her expressive eyes and her perfectly shaped, red, heart-like lips. She radiated elegance and confidence.
A few guards flanked her, suggesting she was expecting someone important. He moved closer, curious.
"Hi, Mr. Lee Yung Joo. I was waiting for you. How was your flight?" she said, extending her hand for a shake.
For a moment, he froze. She clearly thought he was someone else. He didn't correct her and, almost automatically, shook her hand. Her smile was mesmerizing, killer even, but before he could process it, another voice cut through.
"Hello, Miss Jisoo. I never thought you would come to receive me..."
Wait...Jisoo? Taehyung's wife? His mind reeled. She looked at him, realization dawning.
"Sorry, I thought you were someone else," she said quickly, her cheeks tinged pink.
He was silent, shocked and somehow...upset. If this was really the Jisoo he was thinking her to be then how could Taehyung be planning a divorce with such a...beautiful person?
His gaze stayed fixed on her, unable to look away.
She glanced at him one last time and said politely, "Will you excuse me?"
He released her hand reluctantly as she was about to walk away, his heart felt oddly heavy and before he could stop himself he asked it.
"Are you Kim Jisoo?"

Jisoo had gone to the airport before heading to the office. Her important clients were arriving that day and she wanted to receive them personally. With a few staff and guards beside her, she approached who she thought was a client.
"Hi, Mr. Lee Yung Joo. I was waiting for you. How was your flight?" she said, extending her hand.
He didn't reply immediately. Instead, he grasped her hand and...remained holding it for quiet some time.
Before she could ask him to release her hand, a familiar voice broke the tension.
"Hello, Miss Jisoo. I never thought you would come to receive me."
She froze, realizing her mistake. "Sorry! I thought you were someone else," she apologized quickly.
"Are you Kim Jisoo?" he asked, finally meeting her eyes.
"Yes...do you know me?" she replied, still startled by his silent stare.
He didn't answer. She blinked in question but when he still didn't reply, she excused herself politely, and left, her mind still reeling from the encounter.

Taehyung met the lawyer and collected the papers.
"Everything's ready?" he asked.
"Yes. Just sign here, get your wife's signature and return them. Then the divorce will be official," the lawyer explained.
"Understood. Thanks," he said, taking the documents with a weight settling in his chest.
He left the office and returned home, knowing he would soon have to face Jisoo.

Back at the office, Jisoo's meeting concluded. She entered her cabin to find Rosé scrolling on her phone.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
"Chatting with my boyfriend," Rosé replied casually.
"You two just met a few hours ago!" Jisoo said incredulously.
"I know," she said with a shrug.
Jisoo sank into her chair, her thoughts drifting to Taehyung. What was he doing now? Should she call him? The questions swirled endlessly in her mind.
"Jisoo?" Rosé's voice pulled her back.
"Yes?" she asked.
"Jimin and I are going on holiday for two weeks," she said.
"When?"
"Tomorrow morning."
"Okay but why suddenly?"
"He'd been planning it for a while. But now that Taehyung's here, I figured it's better you stay busy," she said with a teasing smile.
"Okay," Jisoo replied.
At that moment, there was a knock at the door. One of her guards entered.
"Someone is here to meet you," he said.
"Who?"
"I don't know, ma'am. He says he knows you personally."
"Alright, send him in."
The man entered, the same one from the airport.
"Hi," he said.
"Yes?" she responded cautiously.
"I'm Jeon Jungkook, Taehyung's friend from the USA," he introduced himself.
"Oh! I'm Jisoo, and this is my friend Rosé," she said.
"Hey," Rosé greeted.
Jungkook greeted Rosé.
"I came to surprise Taehyung but I didn't have his address. Meeting you first was unexpected, but I hope you don't mind me randomly appearing in your office," Jungkook said politely.
"Of course not. I am giving you the address. So you can go directly." Jisoo continued " Or I'll be leaving soon, you can wait here if you like," she offered.
He nodded. "That's fine. I can wait."

The party was about to start. Taehyung descended the stairs, only to see Jisoo walking in with Jungkook. His heart skipped a beat.
What was he doing there? They were chatting casually, completely unaware of his presence. Irritation pricked at him.
"Jungkook?" he called.
"Oh, hey, V," Jungkook said, turning toward him.
"What are you doing here?" he asked, narrowing his eyes.
"I came to surprise you, but...I got surprised," Jungkook said, glancing at Jisoo.
"What?" Taehyung almost barked.
"Nothing. Looks like you guys are preparing for a party," Jungkook said with a grin.
"Oh, yes, we are. Jungkook, go freshen up and get ready for the party," Jisoo instructed.
"Okay," he said, reluctantly.
Jisoo then turned to Taehyung, her eyes briefly meeting his. "I'm going to change too," she said softly.
He remained still, staring at her, his thoughts a storm. The more he watched her, the harder it became to breathe.
And in that moment, he realized, the past he thought he had left behind was refusing to let him go.
