Jisoo was sitting with Yoongi, lost in conversation, when Rosé came bustling into the room.
"Rosé, where were you?" Yoongi asked, raising an eyebrow. "Jimin was trying to call you."
"I was with Jisoo unnie, oppa. Why? What did he want?" Rosé replied.
Jisoo smirked. "Why wouldn't he call? He's your boyfriend, after all."
"Always reminding her that," a familiar voice said from behind.
Jisoo turned to see Jimin walking in with Hoseok. Rosé's eyes lit up and she practically ran to hug him.
"So, finally, you remember you have a boyfriend?" Jimin teased, hugging her tightly.
Jisoo watched them, a pang of longing tightening in her chest. What would it have been like if Taehyung had been there instead? If their relationship had been like that; so effortless, so filled with warmth?
Rosé stepped back, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Shut up. You know I was with Jisoo unnie!"
"Come inside, you two. Sit," Jisoo said, waving them over.
"Jisoo, how are you?" Hoseok asked kindly.
"I'm good. And you guys?" she smiled.
"We're good too," Jimin replied.
Rosé leaned in, curious. "Jimin? Have you guys heard from Taehyung at all?"
"No," Jimin admitted. "He hasn't called any of us."
Yoongi's jaw tightened. "I'm gonna kill that guy."
Jisoo giggled, making a pleading face. "Oppa..."
He waved his hands. "Okay, okay, don't make that face."
Laughter filled the room and for a moment, the weight of her worries lifted. "Hey, since we're all here..." Jisoo said. "let's order some food, get drinks and have a little party."
Hoseok shook his head. "No need. We already brought everything."
Yoongi grinned. "Seems like you guys came well prepared."
"Of course!" Jimin said proudly.
They were enjoying themselves, laughter echoing through the room, when Rosé and Jimin suddenly started arguing about something.
"What happened?" Jisoo asked, curious.
"Look, unnie," Rosé said, exasperated. "His workmate broke up but the next day he's already with someone new. And Jimin without even explaining says he's lucky!"
"Jimin, that's not about luck!" Jisoo said, frowning. "You should make him understand. How can someone just move on in a day?"
"Exactly!" Rosé agreed. "That just means he never even liked that girl."
Hoseok raised an eyebrow. "Who are we talking about?"
"Bambam," Jimin muttered.
Yoongi shook his head. "And why are we even discussing him?"
Jimin looked sheepish. "I'm just saying...Rosie, leave him alone."
Rosé laughed. "Why would I? What if you do something like that too?"
Jimin moved closer, sincerity in his eyes. "You know how much I love you. I would never leave you."
Rosé narrowed her eyes at his answer but then gave in.
"I know," She said, smiling. "I love you too. And don't you dare leave me."
They continued to bicker affectionately, while Yoongi and Hoseok tried to calm them. Jisoo leaned back, watching them. Relationships were complicated, she realized.
Moments of love, moments of conflict; they all came together to shape something real.
She, however, had only ever loved Taehyung. And he...he hadn't even tried to reach out. She had waited for him, hoping for a word, a glance, anything. But he remained silent.
Lost in her thoughts, she barely noticed her phone ringing. The screen flashed an unknown number.
Hesitantly, she answered.
"Hello?"
A familiar voice made her heart leap. "Jisoo...it's me. Taehyung."
Shock and happiness collided inside her. She hadn't expected his call, not today, not ever so suddenly.
Her lips trembled as she whispered, "Taehyung..."
The room fell silent. Rosé and Jimin froze mid-argument, eyes wide. Even Yoongi and Hoseok paused, sensing the weight of the moment.
"Yes...it's me," he said. "I...I need to talk to you. I'm coming to Korea. I called mom and dad, but they're in Thailand. They told me to call you first."
"You're coming?" Her voice shook, unable to hide the excitement.
"Yes," he said. "I'm already at the airport. My flight is in a few moments."
"I...I'll come to pick you up," she offered eagerly.
"N-no...I mean, there is no need for it. I have some work to attend to directly from the airport. Just send a car," he replied.
She nodded, trying to steady her voice. "Okay. Have a safe journey."
"Thanks. Bye," he said softly.
"Bye," she whispered, hanging up, her hands trembling.
She looked around. Everyone was staring at her, mouths agape.
"Was it Taehyung?" Jimin asked incredulously.
"Yes," she said, her smile uncontrollable.
"Wow, I can't believe he actually called," Hoseok breathed.
"So, he's coming to Korea?" Rosé asked, eyes sparkling.
"Yes," Jisoo nodded. "He's coming."
They all buzzed with excitement but Jisoo was lost in her own thoughts. Her heart raced, her mind flooded with the words she had longed to say to him. How would she even begin to tell him everything when they met again?
Her joy, her happiness...there were no words that could capture it.
Finally, he was coming.
