The next morning arrived quieter than the night before. But not calmer.

Because sometimes, silence carries more weight than chaos ever could.

Jisoo stepped out of the car, adjusting her coat slightly as the soft chime of the café door greeted her.

The place was peaceful. Minimal. Elegant. Just like everything she preferred.

She hadn't planned this meeting. In fact, she hadn't even wanted it.

But again, she couldn't ignore it.

Her eyes scanned the room.

And then, she saw the older man.

Jennie's father.

Sitting calmly by the window, as if he had all the time in the world. Watching and waiting for her.

"Ms. Kim Jisoo."

His voice was smooth and polite. Too polite.

Jisoo nodded slightly as she approached, her posture straight and composed.

"Mr. Kim."

She sat across from him, her expression neutral. But alert.

"I appreciate you coming," he said, taking a slow sip of his coffee.

"You mentioned it was important," she replied calmly.

He smiled faintly.

"It is."

A pause.

Then...

"I must say...I've heard a lot about you."

Jisoo didn't react. He continued anyway.

"Independent. Successful. One of the most respected businesswomen in South Korea at such a young age."

Jisoo's gaze remained steady.

"...Thank you but this sudden flattery isn't really necessary."

He chuckled softly.

"Straightforward. I like that."

A brief silence followed. But it didn't feel comfortable. It felt calculated.

"I'll get to the point then," he said finally.

"That would be better."

He reached into his briefcase and placed a file on the table. Right in front of her.

Jisoo didn't touch it immediately. Her eyes lingered on it.

Something felt off.

"You should take a look," he said calmly.

She hesitated for a while before slowly opening it.

Her fingers stilled. Her breath caught.

The words stared back at her.

Cold. Sharp. Unforgiving.

Divorce Agreement.

For a moment, she didn't move. Didn't blink. Didn't breathe.

"...What is this?"

Her voice was steady. But quieter than before. Like a shaky whisper.

Jennie's father leaned back slightly, watching her reaction carefully.

"That," he said, "is something Taehyung has been working on."

Her eyes flicked up sharply, unbelieving.
