It was a beautiful morning. The air was cool, carrying a gentle breeze that whispered through the trees. The world seemed calm, serene. But inside a big house, one girl remained cocooned in her blanket, her face buried beneath her pillow.
A cheerful voice broke the silence.
"Hey! Wake up! You're still sleeping, unnie!"
Jisoo groaned, her voice muffled beneath the pillow.
"Rosie... please...let me sleep," she murmured.
"No! Enough of your sleeping now. You need to get ready for your office," Rosé said, tugging lightly at the blanket.
Jisoo reluctantly pulled herself out of bed, dragging her feet to the bathroom. The water splashed against her face, helping her shake off the remnants of sleep but the heaviness in her chest didn't leave.
"Jisoo unnie? What's your schedule today?" Rosé called out from the bedroom.
"Well...meetings and I have to sign some papers," Jisoo replied. "Why?"
"Just...curious," Rosé mumbled.
Jisoo hummed after finishing brushing her teeth.
"Besides, I was thinking of clubbing tonight. Are you free after nine?"
Jisoo paused, letting her words sink in, then nodded silently.
Rosé watched her from the doorway, carefully observing. She knew every little detail about Jisoo's life but sometimes even she hesitated to push, afraid of opening a wound that wouldn't heal easily.
"Did he call?" she asked softly, stepping closer.
Jisoo froze mid-motion, her hands on her hair, and let out a deep sigh.
"No," she whispered.
"Then why don't you call him?" Rosé asked gently.
"I...I don't have his number," Jisoo said, turning away slightly.
"That's not hard to find. You could get it easily."
Jisoo didn't answer, continuing to do her hair. Rosé felt a pang in her chest, torn between frustration and sadness. She was literally in pain over someone who didn't even reach out to her.
"Jisoo unnie, what are you waiting for? What if he never calls?" she pressed.
"I want to see...how much more he will ignore me," Jisoo admitted quietly, her voice breaking.
"But... doesn't he call his parents?" Rosé asked, trying to make sense of her suffering.
"Not every day...maybe because of me," Jisoo murmured.
Rosé couldn't bear to see her like this. Her best friend, the girl she loved like a sister, was hurting over someone unworthy. She stepped closer and hugged her tightly, gently wiping her tears.
"I'm sorry, unnie. Please don't cry," she whispered.
"Don't say sorry, Rosé," Jisoo said, leaning into her. "I know how much you care for me and love me. And I love you too...the most."
Rosé smiled softly, teasing, "More than him?"
Jisoo laughed despite the tears, pinching her cheek playfully. Rosé's heart lifted a little at the sound. She was still the girl she adored. Strong, kind and stubborn.

Her laughter eased the tension in Jisoo's chest. Rosé wasn't just her childhood friend. She was her anchor, her safe place. Jisoo trusted her with all her secrets, her hopes and her heart.
Yet, even with her comfort, a shadow lingered in her mind.
What if Rosé was right? What if he never calls?
Was it her mistake to fall for Taehyung?
The thought made her chest tighten. She didn't know how long she could wait or how long she could carry this silent longing without letting it consume her.
