The Day Before the Dream

A few days had passed and Taehyung was fully immersed in his work. Designing cars, sketching new models and running simulations. Jennie was always around, now officially his personal secretary. Somehow, her presence made even the most stressful days feel lighter.

Three months had flown by in what felt like an instant. Tomorrow was the big day. The test of his car designs. He felt a knot in his stomach just thinking about it.

The next morning, he woke up restless. His nerves were getting the better of him but Jennie's hand in his anchored him.

"Don't worry, it'll be fine," she said softly, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze.

He managed a small smile. Her calmness had a way of easing his tension.

When the time came, they headed to the test track.

After a few hours, the results were in.

The speed, the mileage, the design; everything was perfect. Every calculation, every line of sketch had come alive exactly as he had imagined. His heart swelled with happiness.

"Congratulations, V." Jennie whispered.

Before he realized it, he pulled her into a tight hug. For a moment, he didn't think. He just held her close.

To his surprise, she hugged him back.

It was only after a few seconds that he pulled away, his ears heating up.

"I'm sorry," he murmured.

"It's okay," she said with a soft smile. "And again...congratulations."

"Thanks," he replied, still feeling the lingering warmth of that moment.

Seeing his car tested successfully filled Jennie with joy. He had poured his heart and soul into this, and it had paid off.

"Congratulations, V," she said, but he didn't respond with words. Instead, he hugged her.

Multiple emotions hit her.

Shock. Happiness. Confusion. All at once.

She hugged him back and for a fleeting moment, nothing else existed. Then he pulled away, apologising, and they both smiled awkwardly.

"It's okay," she reassured him. "And again...congratulations."

"Thanks."

"Let's celebrate," she suggested.

He grinned. "Sure. You can come to my place. Jungkook and Namjoon hyung will be there too. I hope that's okay?"

"Of course," she said, nodding.

"Ah...and you can bring Lisa too. I'm thinking of inviting Jihyo as well."

"Oh, okay, I will." she replied, trying to hide her excitement.

Evening came.

Jungkook and Taehyung were preparing snacks and drinks.

"Hey, Jungkook, hurry up. They'll be here any minute," Taehyung said, checking the time.

"Yeah, yeah," Jungkook muttered, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "After all, Jennie is coming too."

"Shut up, Jungkook," Taehyung growled.

"What? Man, she's obviously interested in you. Everyone can see it and you don't even notice."

"I don't like her that way, Jungkook," Taehyung replied firmly.

"Why not? She's beautiful and smart. She even helped you fulfill your dream!"
