The morning sunlight streamed through the glass walls of Jisoo's office, the city below bustling with life but she felt cocooned in her own world. Rosé, as always, was by her side. She never left her alone. Not after the wedding, not even for a day. She really was more than a friend, she was truly her anchor.

"Rosie?" Jisoo called, stepping into the office.

"Yeah?" Rosé replied, still focused on her phone.

"You're always with me. You even come to the office. Why don't you just become my personal secretary?" Jisoo teased, trying to make her laugh.

"I'm not a workaholic like you," Rosé replied without looking up. "This isn't my thing, unnie."

"But you are still here, helping me."

"That's because I like staying beside you and helping you."

Jisoo's heart warmed upon hearing her words.

"You don't have to do much," Jisoo said, smiling. "Just remind me of my meetings."

"Ahh okay, fine," Rosé said, finally putting her phone aside.

"Thank you." Jisoo smiled gratefully.

Rosé grinned, hugging her briefly before pulling back. Her eyes sparkled with curiosity as she asked yet again, "Jisoo unnie, did he call?"

A deep sigh escaped Jisoo. "No."

Rosé's face softened. "Unnie, I don't think he'll come back. He didn't even see your face before he went back to the U.S. Back then, you had your grandpa, but now...he's gone. And you're not living with Taehyung's parents either."

"That's because they went to Thailand for business," Jisoo said quietly.

"Yeah...two months have passed. Now there's no way for you to reach him," Rosé said softly, almost as if speaking to herself.

Jisoo remained silent, letting her words sink in.

Rosé stepped closer, searching her eyes. "Why do you love him, Jisoo unnie?"

Her question pierced through her. Jisoo couldn't answer. She shifted her gaze, avoiding hers. Rosé paused, perhaps sensing her hesitation. Sighing, she left the room quietly.

Jisoo walked to the window, staring at the skyline. Her mind drifted back, years into the past...

Three Years Ago...

Jisoo's grandfather had insisted she attend a business party, something she never enjoyed.

"Grandpa, why bring me here? You know I don't like these parties. They're boring," she had said, frowning.

"I know, dear," he replied with a gentle smile. "But please, just for me."

She smiled reluctantly. "Okay."

He took her hand. "Come with me."

The party was filled with powerful business figures. That's when she met Taehyung's parents.

"Hello," her grandfather greeted.

"Hello," a middle-aged man said warmly.

"I am Kim Jae Beom," her grandfather continued.

"And I am Kim Jungki, and this is my wife, Kim Ara," he replied.

"Very nice to meet you. This is my granddaughter, Kim Jisoo," her grandfather added.

She bowed politely. "Pleased to meet you."

"You have a very beautiful name," the woman beside the man complimented.

"Thank you, auntie," Jisoo said softly, smiling.

They exchanged pleasantries, but she couldn't help following the direction her grandfather and the elderly couple were glancing at.

And then, she saw him.

Long ago, one night, while Jisoo was driving home, her car suddenly broke down.

"Gosh! Damn this car!" she had exclaimed, stepping out. She called for her guards and waited for a cab.

Before they appeared, some drunk men approached her with leering smiles. Her heart pounded as one stepped closer, reaching out inappropriately.

Before she could react, a strong hand intercepted the man.

A punch landed on his nose.

She looked up and saw him.

Taehyung.

He fought them off effortlessly, a protective aura surrounding him. Her guards arrived moments later and whisked her away, but she couldn't stop staring at him.

As the car drove away, she noticed he bent down, picking up something.

She wondered what it was.

Back at the party, she watched him from afar. Something about him... something familiar.

"Is he your son?" her grandfather had asked.

"Yes," Taehyung's father replied.

"Why isn't he coming inside?"

"He doesn't enjoy business parties," his mother said with a guilty smile.

Jisoo listened silently, her gaze still fixed on Taehyung.

Present Day...

A knock at the office door pulled Jisoo from her reverie, clearing her thoughts about him.

Yet her heart still skipped a beat at the memory of their first meet.
