"Finally! What took you two so long?" Yoongi's voice cut through the room.

Jungkook shrugged, his eyes never leaving Jisoo. "Nothing, just had a lot of shopping."

Taehyung immediately noticed the way Jungkook looked at her. Eyes soft, full of adoration and unspoken love.

His chest tightened, a familiar, frustrating ache settling in. Clearing his throat, he drew their attention.

"Oh, didn't see you were here too," Jungkook said casually, though his voice held an edge of unease.

Taehyung didn't reply. Instead, he shot Jungkook a glare sharp enough to draw blood. These days, glaring at Jungkook had become almost a reflex.

Hoseok entered the room, followed by Rosé and Jimin.

"You guys are finally here," Jimin said, a small smile on his lips.

"Give me all the things we asked for," Hoseok added.

Jisoo handed him the bags while Jungkook passed theirs to Yoongi.

"I'll help you guys," Jisoo said.

"I'll help too," Jungkook chimed in.

Rosé tilted her head. "Jungkook, I think you should help Yoongi oppa and Taehyung. We've got enough people already."

Jungkook's gaze met Taehyung's, and a silent tension sparked between them.

"We don't mind," Taehyung said with a smirk, though inside he seethed. He didn't want Jungkook near Jisoo. But the silent battle of glares and smirks between them continued, leaving the rest of the group utterly confused.

"Jungkook, can you pass me those lights?" Yoongi instructed.

"Jungkook, fix the balloons over there."

"Jungkook, help me move this table."

"HYUNG!" Taehyung snapped, irritated.

Jungkook and Yoongi both looked at him, blank-faced, still holding the table.

Sighing, Taehyung said, "Hyung, can't you just ask me to do something too? We're supposed to do this together."

Yoongi shrugged. "Okay, then do it."

Taehyung gestured at Jungkook with a pout in his face. "But you're only asking him! Namjoon hyung gave 'you and me' the responsibility to handle the decorations together."

Yoongi raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, yeah, I get it. Now stop pouting like a kid. Just go set the balloons at that corner."

Taehyung grinned at him before walking off. Jungkook blinked, surprised to hear a soft chuckle escape Yoongi.

"Hyung...did you just laugh because of him?"

Yoongi cleared his throat, returning to his serious facade. "Let's just finish this quickly."

The three worked efficiently, yet chaos seemed inevitable.

As Yoongi fixed a balloon on the wall, he tripped. Taehyung reacted fast, catching him. But in doing so, he also lost his balance. Both toppled onto the couch.

A gasp echoed around the room as they realized the position they had fallen into.

Taehyung felt warm lips on his forehead.

Eyes wide, cheeks flaming, he looked up.

Yoongi.

Yes. Yoongi was the one who had kissed him.

"The fuck! G-Get off me!" Yoongi stammered.

Taehyung blinked, completely clueless. "Hyung...you're the one on top of me."

Yoongi scrambled upright, noticing three frozen onlookers. Taehyung followed suit, equally shocked to see their wide-eyed expressions.

Clearing his throat, Yoongi addressed the distraction. "No need to stare. Let's get back to work."

Jisoo, trying to recover from the awkwardness, muttered, "I...I came here for scissors."

Jennie added quickly, "And I wanted to see if you needed any help."

"We're almost done. Thanks but no need," Yoongi replied.

"Guess you don't need my help either." Jungkook teased Yoongi and Taehyung, getting back a glare from them.

Jungkook muttered under his breath, a soft pout forming, "Why am I getting so many glares these days?"

Yoongi handed Jisoo the scissors. "Here."

"I'll go then," she said quickly. Jennie followed, eager to escape the tense atmosphere.

Yoongi glanced at Taehyung. "Whatever happened here, no one else should know."

Jungkook's curiosity got the better of him. "So you guys...really kissed?"

"SHUT UP!" Yoongi and Taehyung shouted in unison.

"Only a few minutes left," Namjoon said, checking his watch.

"Did anyone call Jihyo?" Jin asked.

Jennie nodded. "Lisa will call her out to the dining area with an excuse, then we spring the surprise."

Everyone moved into position, whispering last-minute instructions.

"Games and entertainment ready?" Namjoon asked.

"Of course," Hoseok replied confidently.

"And the chickens?" Rosé asked.

"Yes," Jin confirmed.

"The decorations?" Namjoon glanced at Yoongi and Taehyung.

"Hard work, but done," Yoongi replied.

Jungkook smirked. "Also hard to watch."

"SHUT UP!" Yoongi and Taehyung bellowed simultaneously.

Namjoon raised a hand. "Quiet, everyone."

Taehyung muttered, "Sorry."

Jennie and Jisoo glanced at each other, aware something had just happened between Yoongi and Taehyung.

Jungkook whispered to no one in particular, "You guys missed all the fun."

"SHUT UP!" Yoongi and Taehyung barked again.

Jisoo nodded at Lisa. "It's time. Call her."

Lisa took a deep breath, dialed and launched into her improvised drama.

"HELLO JIHYO! COME TO THE DINING AREA! FAST! HELP ME! AAHH! AAHHH!"

She ended the call and exhaled, relief flooding her. Everyone stared at her, mouths agape.

Lisa fumbled nervously. "What? Did I...say something wrong?"

Hoseok grinned. "This was your excuse, Jennie?"

Jennie shrugged, equally stunned.

Namjoon glanced at the clock. "She'll be here any second. Everyone, on my count. One...two...three..."

"SURPRISE!!!"

The room erupted in cheers, laughter, and the flashing lights of a carefully orchestrated party. A perfect chaos of love, friendship, and midnight magic.
