Near the quieter side of the venue, Jisoo stood alone for a moment until she felt a presence beside her.
"Jisoo."
She turned.
"Jin oppa..."
He smiled, but it didn't quite reach his eyes. There was something different in his expression tonight, softer and quieter, as if he already understood the shape of what was coming.
"Can we talk?" he asked gently.
She nodded without hesitation.
They stepped away from the music, their footsteps fading into a calmer corner where the laughter of others became distant echoes.
For a few seconds, neither of them spoke.
Just two people standing in a moment that felt delicate.
Jisoo inhaled softly.
"Oppa...actually I wanted to talk to you too."
Jin's gaze settled on her, steady and patient. He didn't rush her. He didn't interrupt. He simply waited.
"I...respect you a lot," she began carefully, her voice sincere. "You've always been there for everyone, including me."
A faint smile touched Jin's lips. A quiet understanding.
"But?" he said softly.
Jisoo lowered her gaze for a brief moment before meeting his eyes again.
"But I can't see you the way you see me."
Silence. Not empty, just heavy with truth.
"I only see you as my elder brother," she continued, her voice gentle but certain. "And I don't want to hurt you by pretending otherwise."
Jin's expression didn't break. But something in his eyes dimmed for a fraction of a second.
He looked down, nodding slowly as if absorbing each word with care.
"I know," he said at last, his voice calm, though quieter than before.
Jisoo blinked slightly. "You...knew?"
A small, almost self-aware chuckle escaped him.
"I had a feeling," he admitted. "I guess...I just hoped I was wrong."
Her chest tightened at his honesty.
"I'm sorry—"
"Don't be," he said immediately, gently lifting his hand as if to stop her from blaming herself. "You didn't do anything wrong."
He looked at her then, fully-sincerely.
"You're honest," he added. "And that's something not everyone has the courage to be."
Jisoo offered a faint smile, though her eyes carried a hint of guilt.
Jin exhaled slowly.
Yes, it hurt. But not in a way that broke him.
In a way that made him understand.
"Take care of yourself, Jisoo," he said softly. "And...be happy."
Jisoo nodded.
And in that quiet exchange, something unspoken came to an end. Not with conflict or regret.
But with acceptance.

Back in the main hall, Taehyung sat lazily on a chair, one arm draped over the backrest, watching the dance floor with a distant-relaxed gaze.
