The Reluctant Connection

"V is not home?"

The question lingered in the air, heavy with unease.

"Who is not home?" a voice cut in from the entrance.

All heads turned.

"Ah, you're back?" Namjoon asked, slightly surprised.

"Yeah," he replied casually, slipping off his shoes.

"Where did you go?" Park Jimin raised an eyebrow.

"Just went out to grab some banana milk," Jungkook shrugged.

"Jungkook," Hoseok sighed, "we were looking for you."

"Sorry...I thought everyone was asleep." He paused. "But who isn't home?"

"V," Lisa answered.

"And Jisoo too..." Rosé added, worry evident in her tone.

"Both Jisoo and V are missing?" Jungkook muttered with a frown.

"They're not together," Min Yoongi spoke, arms crossed. "I saw Jisoo leave alone. She said she was just going for a walk."

"It's been two hours..." Jin muttered. "This isn't normal."

A silence followed after, thick and suffocating.

"I'm going to find her," Jungkook declared suddenly, already heading toward the door.

"Wait! Jungkook—!"

But he was gone.

"Jisoo?"

Her heart skipped.

She knew that voice.

She opened her eyes slowly, and there he was. Kim Taehyung.

"What are you doing here...all alone?" he asked, concern lacing his voice.

She stared at him, expressionless.

Concern?

Now?

After everything?

She almost laughed at her delusions.

"You know this place is dangerous, right?" he added, stepping closer.

She said nothing.

"Let's go back. Everyone must be waiting," he continued, reaching for her wrist.

The moment his fingers brushed her skin, she jerked away.

"I can go by myself," she said coldly. "I don't need your help."

And she walked away from him. Or more like she wanted to walk away from everything.

"Jisoo, wait!"

"I said I don't need your help!"

"At least listen to me once—"

"I don't want to!"

"Jisoo—"

"Leave me alone."

But even as she said it, she could feel his presence behind her. Persistent. Unyielding.

Why was he still following her?

Why now?
