The moment Jungkook stepped inside the house, the silence felt heavier than usual, almost suffocating. It didn't take long before he found out the truth. The so-called "coincidence" at the park, the competition, even that dinner, it was all planned.

By them.

Rosé and Jimin.

All of it, just to bring Taehyung and Jisoo closer.

He let out a dry laugh, running a hand through his hair as he paced around his room.

"Great," he muttered under his breath. "Just great."

So everyone had already decided their story. Everyone except him.

He sank onto the edge of the bed, staring blankly at the floor. Somewhere along the way, everything had changed. He had come here for Taehyung, for his best friend.

But now...

Now, he was staying for her.

Jisoo.

The realization hit him again, sharp and undeniable. He wasn't confused anymore. He wasn't.

"Just curious."

He had fallen for her.

And the worst part? She was someone he could never have.

He clenched his fists, jaw tightening. "I need to talk to him," he whispered. "This can't go on."

Right then, he heard the faint sound of the door opening downstairs. His heart skipped.

They were back.

Without thinking, he got up and walked out, his steps quicker than he intended.

"Hey...you guys are back?" he called out, trying to sound normal.

Jisoo turned first, her face lighting up with that soft-familiar smile. "Oh, hi, Kookie."

That smile...

It made everything worse for his heart.

"Hey, Jisoo," he replied quietly.

Taehyung stepped forward next. "Yeah, we just got back. But we won't be here for long, we have to go to Paris."

Jungkook blinked. "What?"

He continued casually, "Dad planned a vacation. Or... you could say, a honeymoon."

"Honeymoon!?" The word came out louder than intended.

Both of them looked at him, surprised.

Taehyung frowned slightly. "What's wrong with you?"

Jungkook forced a quick shake of his head. "N-no, nothing. I just...wasn't expecting it."

But inside, everything felt like it was collapsing.

Honeymoon.

They were going on a honeymoon.

"I wanted to talk to you, V," he added quickly, his voice lower now, more serious.

But Taehyung just waved it off. "We don't have time right now. Our flight is in a few hours. We'll talk after we come back."

He turned to Jisoo. "Let's go."

And just like that...they left.

Jungkook stood there, watching their backs as they disappeared.

Alone again.

A hollow laugh escaped his lips. "Guess I'm too late."

He leaned against the wall, closing his eyes. Maybe he had no right to feel this way. Maybe he was selfish.
