A/N
I tried to write out the smut scene, but just couldn't. Apparently I'm great at reading it, but shit at writing it. But, Jungkook asked for consent for everything he did! Hope you enjoy the story anyway. Sorry!_______________________
Taehyung groaned angrily at the screeching of his alarm that he'd forgotten to turn off. He grabbed his digitized clock and smashed the button to turn it off, tossing it to the side and turning over to wrap around his boyfriend. The only problem was that Jungkook's warm body wasn't there.
"Hm?" He begrudgingly opened his eyes and looked around the room, sighing tiredly once he realized he'd have to get up to find the older teen. "Fuck..."
The omega got out of bed, dragging the blanket with him as we wobbled out of his room and downstairs. "Jungkook? You still here?"
"Yeah, I'm in the kitchen cleaning up!" Jungkook set down the rag he'd been using to wipe down the counter as Taehyung waddled in. "Sleep well?"
"Not sure. I was asleep." The sleepy teen plopped onto a chair at the small dining table they had situated by the window. "It's still snowing..."
Jungkook pursed his lips as he observed the omega. He could tell what was running through that mind, and he honestly worried about it too. "Your parents will make it. Everything's going to be okay."
"Don't make promises you can't keep." Taehyung's gravelly morning voice was oozing in a serious tone. He didn't need false statements to make him feel better. He knew what was going to come once night fell, and he knew that there was no avoiding it.
"Sorry...I just don't want you to worry too much." The alpha walked closer and wrapped an arm around his mate. "All we can do is wait, so worry that much will only make you sick."
"I know...but it's hard not to." He sighed heavy and looked up to Jungkook. "Enough about me. How are you doing? Shouldn't you guys be leaving? Going through this all over again...I can't even imagine the pain the first time caused, much less dealing with it twice."
"I'll be okay. Some of the others are already leaving town. They're going to stay with the pack up north of here. The other alphas are staying to help fight."
"The other alphas? What about you?" Taehyung furrowed his brows as he asked.
"I'm staying to protect you." Jungkook hugged Taehyung tighter and leaned down to kiss the top of his head. "I won't let them touch a single hair on your head."
The omega smiled and leaned into the embrace. "And I'll do the same for you."
They stayed glued together for a while longer before separating to finish cleaning up the house. It was a nice distraction from the reality of everything going outside, but it eventually came to an end. The quickly found something else to keep them occupied by picking out a movie to watch while cuddling on the living room floor with a few blankets and pillows.
"I'm telling you that the older version is soooo much better! Johnny Depp is great in this one, but it's still not nearly enough to compare to the original." Taehyung continued to rant on and on about why "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" is superior to "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory".
"Alright, I get it. Should've grabbed the other one. I'll make sure I remember for next time." Jungkook chuckled at Taehyung's adamancy.
"You better you muscle head." Taehyung huffed with his arms crossed over his chest.
"Hey, just because I'm not as smart as you in school, doesn't mean I'm a muscle head." Jungkook nudged his boyfriend playfully.
"Mhmmmm sureeee." Taehyung chuckled. "Just watch the damn movie, muscle head."
"I told you, I'm not a-"
Jungkook's sentence halted as his phone began to ring next to them. They both froze as they stared at Namjoon's name displayed on the buzzing device.
"Answer it. It's he wouldn't call if it wasn't important." Taehyung gulped as he watched the alpha pick the phone off of the floor and answer the call.
"Hello?" There was a long pause. He heard Namjoon's voice through the silence, but couldn't understand what was being said. "Okay. On our way."
The call ended and Jungkook quickly turned off the TV. "Let's go. We need to stay with the others — the sun's going to set in an hour."
Taehyung silently got up and grabbed his coat. He tried putting his shoes on at the door, but struggled with tying his laces.
Jungkook kneeled down in front of Taehyung and took the shoelaces from his shaking hands. "I'll do it."
"Thanks..."
That was the last word said between them until they arrived at the group house. When they arrived, the walked into everyone silently sitting in the living room, soaking in the heavy atmosphere. Namjoon was leaning up against the far wall with a serious look on his face. He stood upright once he saw the two youngest walk in and motioned for them to follow him into the kitchen.
"Taehyung's parents won't be here for another few hours. Once they do get here, you two are leaving with them right away." Jungkook nodded while Taehyung stood deathly still.
"Until then..." There was a long pause in Namjoon's words as if he dreaded what he was about to say next. "You'll need to do your best to stay hidden downstairs. All of us will be out there fighting, so you'll be on your own. Once you find a good place, don't make any noise and don't move. Tae, your parents will know you're hiding down there, so they'll come find you. Do not leave your hiding place until you know it's them."
Taehyung barely managed a nod, fear of the situation settling in stronger than ever before.
"Don't worry; we'll be just fine. You just focus on keeping everyone else alive." The weight of Jungkook's words were heavier than anything he'd ever said. Death. That's the one and only threat looming over them like a pitch black cloud ready to strike with quick bolts of lightning.
"That's exactly what I'm doing." Namjoon pulled them both into a strong hug. "We're making it out of this alive and in good health. All of us."
"Yeah..." They pulled away from each other and returned to the living area with everyone else. All that was left was the worst part of all this...waiting.
