"Hoseok, the store's that way." Yoongi watched, completely baffled, as they passed right by the road they were supposed to be taking."Good thing we're not going to the store then..." Hoseok sped up as the speed limit increased.
"What?" Yoongi shot his eyes over to his significant other. "Then where the hell are we going?"
"I'm taking you out of town. I can't let you be there during the attack." Hoseok clenched his jaw, ready for the alpha's retaliation.
"Turn this damn car around right now. You don't get to decide this for me." Yoongi clenched his fists tightly, already angry enough to throw punches.
"I can't. If anything were to happen to me-"
Yoongi slammed his fist down onto the dashboard, cursing loudly and cutting off the moon alpha. "Nothing is going to happen to you! If you're so worried about it, let me fucking help you! Turn this fucking car around right now!"
"No. Let me explain instead of interrupting." The car sped up once again as they passed city limits.
"No! I don't need to hear your damn explanation. I'm not letting you, or anyone else, go into this fight without me. You're not the only one with the duty of protecting the others!" Yoongi shifted so his entire body was facing the man next to him. "Turn around or I'll do it for you!"
Hoseok sent a dominant glare at his mate before turning his eyes back to the road. "Stop screaming at me. My answer isn't going to change. Not this time."
"You don't fucking intimidate me Jung Hoseok. Pull over. Now." He stared intently Hoseok, giving him several moments of silence to decide before chiming in again. "I will jump out of this goddamn car if you don't. Pull the fuck over."
The moon wolf huffed and began slowing down, throwing his hazard lights on and gradually moving onto the side of the road. "One foot out of this car, and you're in big fucking trouble."
Yoongi paid no attention to those words and got out immediately, unlocking his door and beginning his walk back to town. He started going faster when he heard a door open and slam shut behind him.
"Get the fuck back here!" Hoseok chased after him, catching up easily and grabbing his arm. "You can't fight because Jimin needs one of us. If something happens to me, you have to be there for him."
"We don't have to worry about that! Neither of us will die!" Yoongi shoved his mate several times, but the hand on his arm never budged. "I'll protect you, you'll protect me! Okay!? So let me go, and we'll both head back to fight."
Hoseok watched as Yoongi frantically hit his chest and pulled away in an effort to escape. He tried several times to calm him down or reason with him, but the alpha simply wouldn't listen. Finally, he pulled Yoongi close, pulled his shirt down, and sunk sharp teeth into the scar on his pale skin.
Yoongi cried out and clung to his mate. His knees gave out and he would have fallen to the snow-covered ground if Hoseok hadn't held onto him. The crippling sensation vanished as quickly as it came once the moon wolf licked over the wound, but its effects still lingered.
"Calm down. You're too worked up to think." Hoseok picked up the smaller man and carried him back to the car, setting him in the passenger seat and the kneeling down before him. "Please....I need to you take care of Jimin. Yes, I'm being selfish here. I'm pulling you away to keep you safe. But I also need you to keep Jimin safe. Even right now, he could be suffering from his heat while we sit here fighting."
Tears streamed down both of their faces as they looked into each other's eyes. Yoongi leaned down and angrily pressed his lips to the other's. He pulled away soon enough and pressed their foreheads together. "I fucking hate you."
Hoseok smiled. "Thank you... Thank you so much."

A heavy sigh left Hoseok lungs as he parked his car in the snowy driveway. He'd managed to make it back roughly an hour before sunset. He'd hoped to be back sooner, but saying goodbye proved to be much harder than he'd planned for. He turned the car off and trudged inside.
"You're late. I guess he didn't take it too well then..." Hoseok's father stood in the entryway with crossed arms and a sympathetic expression. He opened up for a hug and was immediately embraced by his son.
"I know I'll see them again, so why does it hurt so much? I feel like my heart is being ripped out."
"Because you know you might not." Hoseok's father grimaced in his own pain when he felt his son shaking and tears wetting his shirt.
"What if...If I can't- Oh god...I can't leave them. Not yet....It's too soon dad. What do I do?"
"Shhh...It'll be okay. I won't let you leave them here. The goddess won't be taking you home yet. You've got a long life ahead of you."
