Teahyung smiled gently as he happily accepted a cup of tea from Seokjin. It had almost been three days since Jungkook went into rut, and his heat finally ended a few hours earlier. He was still exhausted from the unusually grueling experience, but he didn't want to lay down any more than he already had.

"So, Jongin mentioned that you guys were discussing your birthday before everything happened. I didn't know our birthdays were in the same month. Mine's in two days." Jin took a seat next to the young omega, sitting at an angle so they could chat a bit easier.

"What!? Your birthday's so soon and no one told me? You should've said something. Now I don't know what to get you..." Taehyung frowned and momentarily turned his attention to the steaming drink in his hand, sipping at it after blowing away a minimal amount of heat from its surface.

Jin chuckled and shook his head, replying happily, "Don't worry about it. I've already told the others that I don't want to do anything special this year. All I want is some peace and quiet around the house for once." He paused to take a drink of his own tea, savoring it's flavor before continuing. "Do you have any plans for your birthday? I bet you've got a big party in store. Right?"

Taehyung looked up and shook his head, shrugging. "Nah, I've never had a birthday party. My parents always just made a special dinner for me and gave me something small. My mom is really nice, but she's always been overly concerned with making sure I don't grow up spoiled. So yeah, never has a party before."

"WHAT!? Oh my god, we have to throw you a party! We'll put up decorations and bake a cake ourselves- obviously. You can't have a gross birthday cake. We'll get a helium tank for balloons and you can invite all of your friends! Well...if we get permission from your parents that is." Jin set down his mug and readjusted his position just slightly, bringing his knee up onto the couch in order to face Taehyung more.

"Really?" Taehyung was almost in a state of shock. He'd never really thought about having a party for himself before, but the more he imagined the activities and fun he'd have, the more excited he got. "I'll make sure to call them later! What else could we do?"

The two talked for a while, but eventually Jin stopped as he went to go make dinner for everyone. Taehyung took this as an opportunity and called his mother. After a brief conversation with his parents, Taehyung got confirmation that they were both doing well and that it was okay to host a birthday party. Excitement gradually bubbled up inside of him and he felt as though all the energy he'd lost in the past few days came rushing back.

"Do you know when I can go see Jungkook? It's been nearly three days now...," Taehyung asked Yugyeom cutely with a bit of a pout as he hugged one of the couch pillows. The alpha had made his way into the living room once he smelled the beginnings of dinner.

"I don't know, Tae. He's calming down a bit, but he's still in his rut. If he sees you right now, he'll probably go crazy again."

Taehyung sighed and let his head fall back onto the couch. "Oh...I'm gonna go over to Jimin's then. I want to talk with him about my birthday." A smile slowly made its way onto his face and he jumped up off of the couch. "I'll see you later." He waved and the hurried out the door, wanting to go over things excitedly with his best friend.

When he got to his friend's house, however, his smile was replaced with a look of confusion. He watched as Jimin's parents hurriedly pushed bags into their car and then drove off. Much like his own had when they left about a week ago.

"Tae! Why didn't you tell me you were coming over?" Jimin ran over to his friend and welcomed him with a hug.

"What's up with your parents? Where are they going?" Taehyung eyes were still locked on the car that was driving away.

Jimin sighed heavily. "I'm not sure. All they said was that they had to go somewhere with Hoseok's dad. Official pack business I guess..." he watched with his friend for a second before dragging him inside. "So, what did you come over here for? Oh! You should help me get some stuff together. I'm gonna stay with Hobi for a few days while my parents are gone. Apparently they don't trust me anymore."

"Rightfully so. Last time they left for the weekend, you tore up the house you big dummy. But yeah, let's go inside. It's freezing out here. We can talk while you get packed." Taehyung's smile returned and he immediately began to rant on and on about his birthday plans. Both of them squealed many many times as they talked and came up with a list of things to add.

"Oh Tae!! I almost forgot. I'm gonna have a party tonight since my parents ditched game night. You've gotta come. It'll be so much fun!!" Jimin grasped his friend's hands. He knew the kid wasn't exactly the most social party animal, but he still wanted him to come.

"I don't know....maybe you shouldn't. I mean...bad things always happen at your parties. Why don't you just go hang out with Hoseok instead?"

"Nah, that's no fun. You can invite Jungkook too! The more the merrier." Jimin smiled hopefully.

"Jungkook's still locked up in the basement....I'm going to try and see him later tonight, so I don't think I can go. Sorry..." Taehyung gave an apologetic look. "I'd love to have fun with you, but I want to check on Jungkook and I really need some proper sleep after the last few days."

With a heavy sigh, Jimin let go. "Fine. I'll let you off the hook just this once because you and Jungkook are seriously so unlucky. I expect a full on party Tae next time though."

Taehyung chuckled and nodded. "Sure, whatever."
