"So Tae, I heard your birthday is this month. Turning seventeen in just a few weeks must feel exciting! It's not quite adulthood, but it's one step closer. Right?" Luna, one of the few female wolves that had made it out of the attack on her previous pack, sat down on the armrest of the couch, smiling.

"Oh yeah! Maybe this little twerp is going to grow up a bit and quit being such a brat!" Jongin smiled and laughed, pinching Taehyung's cheek lightly as he walked behind him. He was rewarded with a cute pout from the omega who mumbled something along the lines of "I'm not a brat...".

A low growl came from the other side of the room where Jungkook was standing. He had just walked in from helping Jin with some cleaning and for some reason seeing Jongin touching Taehyung, his mate, made him furious. He dropped the bucket of hot, soapy water he'd been holding and walked over. His steps weren't rushed because he knew nobody would move, but they were loud and his demeanor radiated a menacing energy. "Don't fucking touch him."

Everyone was confused. They were clearly just messing around and having fun. What about that could've set the alpha off? No one had a clue.

"You may be an alpha and all, but I'm still older. Don't talk to me like that. I mean seriously, we were just messing around. Right Tae?" Jongin placed a hand on the young omega's shoulder, looking at him for confirmation that nothing was taken seriously.

"Yeah, we were just talking about my birthday. Calm down Kook." Taehyung nodded confidently, though he shrunk as soon as he turned his gaze back to his boyfriend. Jungkook's eyes were bright red and in a flash, he was up close and nearly lifting Jongin up by the collar of his shirt. "I told you to keep your goddamn hands off of him."

"Jungkook, what the hell!! Stop it!!" Luna grabbed onto the fuming alpha, but was shoved away too quickly to do anything. "What are you doing!? Get a hold of yourself!"

Taehyung tried several times to calm down his mate, but nothing was working. He was panicking, terrified that Jungkook would end up hurting Jongin. He could tell that the alpha was getting more worked up by the second and anyone would see that as his anger grew, the further he fell away from control. His wolf was gradually coming through, meaning trouble for everyone there but especially the beta in his clutches.

"What the hell is going on now? I swear if you break another wall-" Namjoon and Jin walked in with annoyed expressions at first, but quickly turned serious once they noticed the actual situation. "Jungkook, put Jongin down. We settle things through words; you know that."

The raging alpha snapped his head to Namjoon. He smirked and dropped the struggling beta. "Well well well..." Jungkook's voice was deeper than usual. He'd finally snapped. "The little thief decides to act as mediator."

Taehyung's breath caught in his throat and he had to hold onto the sofa in order to keep from falling due to weak knees. "Rhae...please calm down. This isn't like you."

The red-eyes wolf kept his eyes glued to Namjoon, but spoke in a low voice to his mate. "Silence." One word in that forceful tone had Taehyung whimpering in submission on the floor. Rhae held an expression that clearly read "pissed" and continued what he was talking about before. "You piece of shit, you thought you could take my pack from me just because I didn't have my memory yet."

"What? Jungkook wasn't ready yet-"

"YOU TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME!!" Rhae took quick steps closer, snarling at Namjoon angrily. He grabbed the other alpha by the throat and slammed his head back against the wall aggressively. "You knew it was me and you still took it. You sick motherfucker. I'll kill you."

"I didn't take advantage of anything! Fuck!" Namjoon gasped out for air as the grip on his neck tightened. He tried to fight back and push Rhae off, but he wasn't strong enough. He was lucky enough to have others nearby, though. In a matter of seconds, even if it felt like minutes, someone had managed to get the wolf away.
