The car rolled to a stop and Jungkook put it in park. He turned it off and then turned to Taehyung, smiling. "Wait right there." He got out and ran around the vehicle to open the door for his boyfriend.Taehyung got out with a smile and looked around, breathing in the cold night air. They were parked outside of an old park that was surrounded by trees that grouped up together to form a small forest-like area, much like the one behind their pack's own little community. "What are we doing here?"
Jungkook looked around to make sure no one else was around before a soft glow enveloped his body and he shifted to his wolf form. He couldn't help but laugh a little when he heard his mate gasp subtly. They'd never shifted in front of each other before. It was a rare occurrence for wolves to switch forms at all, so it wasn't that big of a surprise that they hadn't seen each other that way before.
Your turn.
Taehyung smiled at Jungkook's voice that popped into his head. He'd only ever talked through a link once before when he'd shifted for his first time. "I don't want to though." He stepped forward with a pout and buried his hands in Jungkook's soft fur. It was a beautiful color- a deep chocolate brown that seemed so warm it could make the cold of the winter night disappear.
Why not?
The omega paused for a second to rest his forehead against his mate's, cherishing the moment. "Because it's too painful...I've only shifted fully once."
You get used to it the more you shift. Is it really that bad?
Taehyung nodded and stepped back. "Yeah, it is. I was in bed for a week after my first transformation. I think there's something wrong with the way my body shifts, but it's okay. I don't have a need for it anyway." He smiled and shrugged, glancing around. It was still light out, but the sun was getting very close to setting. "So what's the plan?"
I guess I'll just have to carry you. Climb up onto my back and hold on tight. I don't run as smoothly as a horse.
Doing as he was told, Taehyung hopped up and swung a leg over Jungkook's back, needing an extra boost because his boyfriend's wolf form stood almost as tall as his human one. Once he was situated, he buried his hands into the soft fur and held onto it tightly, squeezing his legs as well so as not to fall off.
Jungkook took off running. He dashed across the park and into the thickness of the trees behind it, dodging between obstacles and jumping over fallen clumps of timber or rocks. He did his best to keep his movements gentle so that Taehyung wouldn't fall off, slowing his pace here and there, until he finally reached his destination. He halted his movements and let the omega slide down to the ground before shifting back to his human form.
Taehyung stepped forward in awe. The sun had set over the horizon a few minutes before they stopped and the sky was perfectly clear, allowing for a full sky of beautiful twinkling lights up above. Even better was the large lake that stretched out in front of them, reflecting every detail as though it was a portal to another universe identical to his own. He turned to Jungkook, mouth agape and eyes wide, laughing. "How did you find this place? I've lived in this town my whole life and I've never even heard of this!"
The alpha shrugged with a smiled and took a step forward, wrapping his arms around his adorable boyfriend and leaning down to kiss him sweetly. "Hmm...I like to explore. I go for runs a lot to clear my head."
