To say the least, Jimin's birthday party was terrible. After the news about Hoseok spread around, he told his parents that he didn't want to do a party and that he just wanted to spend some time alone. His parents, of course, decided that it would be a good idea to surprise him and host a party for Jimin's 18th birthday anyway and invited as many people as they could think of. When the beta returned home after a long day at school the words "Happy Birthday!" were screamed at him by his friends, family, and even some people he didn't really know.

At first Jimin was angry, but after a while he just wanted to go huddle up in his bed and sleep. The party went on and every one else seemed to have more fun than him. As the activities progressed, things just got worse. His parents set up a Nerf gun war and made him participate. His cousin, one of the worst people on the planet, shot him in the eye when he was a mere meter away. After the "fun" fight was over, he had to open presents and pretend to be enthused by the childish gifts he had no interest in. Later he wrote thank you cards to everyone that attended and even after that he had to clean up the mess that others left behind. Once he thought he could finally have a break and some time to himself, his father dragged him out of the house and took him to go look for open jobs claiming, "You're a man now. You need to get a job and start supporting yourself."

The only positive thing that happened on his birthday was when Jungkook and Taehyung showed up and pulled him away from the chaos to just chill out and relax. He'd grown much closer to Jungkook since they'd started attending school together and was grateful that he went with Tae.

The next day he woke up from a late-afternoon nap to his phone blowing up with messages and calls. He wasn't sure how to react at first, but after going through all of the texts Taehyung had frantically sent him, worry settled in. He rushed around his room, grabbing a jacket before heading downstairs. He noticed his parents seemingly having a serious conversation in the kitchen, but didn't pay much mind to it. When he opened the front door, he paused abruptly to take in the surprising sight in front of him.

Hoseok stood there with a present in his hands and an apologetic smile on his face. "Jimin-"

"Don't....Just don't say anything. I don't want to talk to you right now." Jimin tried to close the door, but Hoseok slipped inside before he could.

"Look Jimin, I'm sorry I couldn't be there, but I didn't have much of a choice. You know that."

Oh yeah, another shitty part of Jimin's birthday was that his childhood friend (and crush) that he hadn't seen in years didn't show up because he was with his mate. Hell he hadn't even sent a happy birthday text.

"No. I don't know that. You didn't even call. You could've at least called, asshole." Jimin turned around and started making his way to the back door, not making it very far because Hoseok was quick to grab his arm and turn him around. "Let go of me!" He pulled his arm away, shouting at the other and catching the attention of his parents.

"What's going on? When did our young Mr. Jung get here?" Mrs. Park walked over to them with a smile, dropping it pretty quickly when she noticed the stern faces on both of the younger wolves. "Jimin, what happened? What did you do?"

The beta turned his gaze to his mother and widened his eyes, scoffing. "I didn't do anything! He's the fucker that completely forgot about me on my birthday."

"Park Jimin how dare you speak about Hoseok like that."

"Jimin, please just listen to me okay? I wanted to call you. I really did. Can't you please just forgive me this once?" Hoseok reached his hand out to grab his friend again, but Jimin moved away.

"No. No more forgiveness. Do you know how long I waited? Every year you were gone I stayed up late just to wait for a text or a call or something. I forgave all the times you forgot. I gave excuses for you. 'Oh he's probably busy. He'll call later.' Now that you are back I thought I might actually get to see you for my birthday. I thought I'd get to talk to you and learn about all the stupid stuff you did while you were away, but no. You forgot again. So no, I can't forgive you. Not again." He threw his jacket on the ground and stormed out of the house, running as soon as his feet hit the paved sidewalk.

Everything was going to shit. So much chaos had been happening and he could only hope that it wouldn't continue.

Upon arriving at the house Jungkook shared with the remaining members of his previous pack, Jimin was greeted with loud shouts coming from somewhere towards the back of the house. The living room was occupied by most of the wolves that lived there, each one either looking stressed, worried, or tired. He was quick to realize that the shouting was coming from Taehyung and his father, so he moved to go find them. However, he didn't get very far out of the living room before he was stopped by Namjoon, the alpha shaking his head and directing him back and sit with the others. He was reluctant to do so but followed anyway, figuring that he wouldn't be much help even if he did go talk with them.

"Is there any way I can help?" Jimin asked as he took a seat.

"About the only thing we can really do right now is wait."
