The knock on the door jolts me awake from my sleep.
"Shanice it's Minna, Elias would like to see you in his office." she said peeking her head in the room and then walking away
Maybe he found out about what happened between Caesar and I last night. Feeling nervous about what happened last night. Memories flashed through my mind like a blur, leaving me uneasy.
I slip on a comfy pair of jeans that hug my curves just right and a soft t-shirt that feels like a cozy hug. Running my fingers through my thick, curly hair, I gather it up into a loose ponytail, letting a few curls frame my face. When I finished getting ready, I walked into Elias office and to my surprise Caesar and Adriano having a pretty intense argument. Their voices are raised, and tension hangs thick in the air. I freeze, my heart pounding with worry and confusion. I feel a knot form in my stomach as I watch them, It's like I've stumbled into a battlefield. I glance at Caesar and notice the cut on his lip. My ring must have done that when I punched him....good.
"Of course you believe the golden child" Adriano said, pushing past me to leave the room
"I'm sorry to interrupt, Minna said you wanted to see me" I said nervously
"Have a seat" Elias said
The only spot open was next to Caesar, I see him on the couch, anger blazing in his eyes. His gaze feels like daggers, piercing right through me. He sits there, tense and silent, his jaw clenched tight. It's like he's waiting for something, simmering with rage. I lower myself onto the couch beside him, the silence between us heavy with unspoken words.
"If this is about what happen last night I-"
"I don't want to know, I told you both what I expect from you. " Elias said cutting me off
I'm going to meet Enzo at the club" Caesar said getting up and storming out the room, leaving Elias and I alone.
"I think you should have this back" I said, as I slowly slide the ring off my finger, it feels heavy in my hand, I hold it out, offering it to him. His eyes meet mine, and I see him notice the bruise on my wrist.
"Did my son do that?"
"You said you didn't want to know" I said, my fingers fidget with the ring.
"Meet me downstairs in 30 minutes, you will be briefed on your duties in the car" he said standing up and gathering his things
"Can you please just take it?" I said, offering him the ring again
"Put the ring on, I'll deal with Caesar...And if your gonna punch someone, aim for the nose" he said leaving the room
