~Kaitlyn's POV~
(2 weeks later)
"We're losing her!" The doctors shout and scramble all around the room.
"What do you mean? Where is she?" A frantic looking Ashton shouts at the doctors.
"Mr. Irwin your girlfriend is having difficulties with the birth so we need you to step out for a while." A nurse calmly pushes him out the door.
"Cmon..." The main operator mutters as he continues the surgery.
"We've got the baby. Now Miss Hemmings just has to pull through."
"Get ready!"
"Dr. Anderson? What do you need?"
"WE NEED A DECISION NOW SIR!"
"Stand by on the defibrillator!"
Orders are exchanged from every mouth.
"We're losing her! Cmon...." The room fills with silence as I succumb to the failed procedure.
A long beep fills the air from my monitor as my baby's wails take place instead.
In a flash the nurses announce the unfortunate news to my boyfriend and his sorrowful screams shake the entire world.
"NOOO!" I shoot out of bed and run into my bathroom. I check the time on my phone.
3:56 in the morning. Great.
After taking a minute to slow my breathing patterns I get a drink of water and climb back under my sheets. My increasingly large stomach catches my gaze and I gently rub it with my hands.
Prior to falling back to sleep, I say a prayer with the intentions that nothing bad will happen to me or my family. That's all I can do though.
*next morning*
"Hey babe, did I hear you yelling last night?" Ash asks as he stirs the eggs around the pan.
"Uh, yeah it was just a bad dream."
"Wanna talk?" He steps towards me and squeezes my hand as if to show me his support.
"Thanks, but I'm fine."
Then he wraps his arms around me and kisses behind my ear.
"I love you so much Kat."
"I love you too Ashton. I promise I won't leave you." I mumble just loud enough that he doesn't hear me.
